Grammy® Award Winner! In Brain Droppings, Carlin brings to audio his singular brand of comedic satire that has made him a favorite of stage, screen and cable audiences. Witty word play, spirited commentary, sarcasm, monologues and in-your-face insights about everyday values appear randomly—literally droppings from his fast and fresh intelligence. Carlin's challenging humor cuts through the superficial and smug assumptions behind our institutions—politics, race and social issues—exposing all as amusing fabrications. And unlike other comics who believe we've somehow misplaced the American dream, Carlin presents it as a great—but incredibly funny—myth. Brain Droppings was adapted for audio by Carlin himself and comes with the inimitable Carlin timing and delivery—making it clever, laugh-out-loud humor. With its erudite appeal, Brain Droppings is perfect for listeners looking for a quick shot of brainy merriment as well as long-time Carlin fans seeking a bigger dose of his entertaining take on life.

"George Carlin is not for everyone, this book included. His language is not appropriate for teens. Some of the routine is out dated but this is from 2000. What I love about Carlin is that his act makes you think and that is where his talent lies. As apposed to today's comics who rely on shock value. Sit back enjoy and you might just learn something about your own values. "

" "In baseball, the objective is to go home. And to be safe. 'I hope I'll be safe at home!'" "
— Alex, 2/13/2014" Classic Carlin stories told the only way Carlin can tell them. Witty and funny, some will be offended. "
— Chriss, 2/10/2014" witty one liners and mini rants from george carlin. a fun little read if you enjoy his comedy "

— Sara, 1/23/2014" Carlin's humour just about translates to print. "
— Nitin, 1/21/2014" Hilarious and (mostly) original bits from the salty old crow. Good for airplanes or crappiers. "
— Dante, 1/15/2014" One of the funniest books ever when i read it in 8th grade... "
— John, 1/13/2014" This is a hilarious book! George Carlin at his best. If you like George Carlin and are not easily offended then you will enjoy it. I laughed out loud many, many times and those around me probably thought I had lost my mind. However, those who are easily offended should definitely NOT read it!!! "
— Julie, 1/9/2014" His stand-up is funnier. "
— Robbie, 1/8/2014" I love George's humor :) I also loved that I could flip to any page at any time and read. "
— Amanda, 12/30/2013" Part of a gift basket sent to me for Christmas in Iraq from my father. Carlin's witty as ever, playing with the English language like a fiesty pet, and turning it into some truly wicked observations on modern American society. "
— Dave, 12/29/2013" my husband and i read this together, and i thoroughly enjoyed it! (he's a long-time fan, but i had never read any before.) be warned, there is a lot of profanity, but the man is hilarious! "
— Courtney, 12/27/2013" Ranting about things that you hate is not the same thing as telling jokes. "
— Andy, 11/26/2013" What a huge loss. Carlin was honest, insightful, clever, and absolutely hysterical. This book is quintessential Carlin: laugh out loud funny. "
— Robin, 6/29/2013" So fun to read. Could hear him saying the things as I read them. "
— Arlan, 6/20/2013" I ignore the bad language. I love his use, take, view of the English language. "
— Alexia, 5/24/2013" Errrm.. I'll just stick to George Carlin's stand-up comedy shows. "
— Engi, 12/8/2012" Yup, I totally understand why his records were hidden from "us kids" when I was little. So funny, though! Was good to hear this again after so long. "
— Cat, 11/17/2012" He's a riot in person, but the book wasn't well organized and read like spoken humor, rather than written humor "
— Chris, 5/6/2012" Ouch! George is painfully funny and straight forward in so many issues. Although extremely sharp and witty with the English language, he is sometimes too crude for me. You either love him or hate him, like many other comedians. "
— Lina, 1/23/2012" This is Carlin at his best. His age and cynicism had yet to reach the point to where he stopped being funny and started to become a little bit creepy. "
— Joe, 12/27/2011" Funny at first, but then it gets a little old. Read it over a long period of time so that you don't wear yourself out. "
— Heather, 10/28/2011" 2.5 stars. As the name implies, Brain Droppings is quite scattered, maybe even too scattered. "
— Ania, 6/8/2011" I never tire of reading George Carlin's brand of humor and his take on life... It always make me chuckle, when I am down... R.I.P. George... "
— Corey, 4/9/2011" Somewhere in heaven George Carlin is giving God hell or else somewhere in hell George Carlin is bedeviling Lucifer. I miss his bitting wit, astute observations of human behavior and his general irreverance for things usually revered by others. "
— Sharon, 4/3/2011" No comedian that I can think of is cleverer in his use of language than Carlin. "
— George, 3/5/2011" my husband and i read this together, and i thoroughly enjoyed it! (he's a long-time fan, but i had never read any before.) be warned, there is a lot of profanity, but the man is hilarious! "
— Courtney, 2/21/2011" A funny piece of fluff "
— Kathleen, 1/15/2011" Classic Carlin - and what a nice guy. I got to meet him back in my bookstore days up in DC when he came for a book signing. He actually had to re-schedule the signing due to his wife's unexpected death. When he did come all of his fans were so great & many brought him flowers & cards. "

— Haven, 8/22/2010" I didn't care for this book, it has its moments, but it felt more like a compilation of unfinished thoughts and ideas from Carlin's comedy notebook "
— Mark, 8/6/2010" If you've watched his specials you won't really read that much new. But still... It's carlin. What else needs to be said? "
