"First of all: I recommend this book. A nice twist on a far future dystopia. It has a lot of different themes and some nice twists along the way. Themes like steam-punk, dystopia, post-war apocalypse come to mind. The narration seemed a bit long-winded at first, compared to other audiobooks I have listened to, but it kinda grew on me. So all in all - a good listening experience."

“In Mortal Engines, [Reeve] has given readers of all ages an alternative world so richly, vigorously, and wittily imagined that it lingers in the mind long after its supposed lessons have faded.”
— Washington Post“Reeve thinks big in this British prizewinner, envisioning a distant future in which immense mobile cities roar over continent-sized wastelands, preying on each other…Readers who enjoy violent, titanic clashes between good and evil will be absorbed from beginning to end. First of a projected trilogy.”
— Kirkus Reviews" An excellent book with touches on topics like steam-punk, wasteland living, dystopia and post-war far future. Recommended read "
