Quotes & Awards

  • “With wit and sass reminiscent of Fannie Flagg, Cano-Murillo manages to extract much mirth from her cast of craftsters, each striving to transcend restrictive patterns in life (as well as dressmaking) and to defeat family expectations that are squelching self-expression.”

" This one is so different than what I've read in the past and very refreshing! There is a little mystery, romance, relationship mending and patternless sewing involved! "

" Total chick lit, instead of the knitting and quilting takes sewing to a hole new level. Funny and sweet. "

" Enjoy this book! Dreams can happen if someone wants it bad enough and willing to work for it. The real life issues with family and creating friendships that will be there for a long time to come. It allows the read to feel like they are in the town of Glendale during Christmas. "

" Picked it up for the observation that I *REALLY* need some productive creative outlet for relaxing. Really enjoyed it. The protagonist is a bit flaky for my taste (dinged a star), but the other characters made the book. The ending was also a little far-fetched (dinged the second star), but still, an entertaining read especially if you're a Type A looking for a creative outlet! "

" This isn't my typical style of book, so I'm surprised how much I liked it. But the relationships between the women and their individual stories were really good. Even though the book was predictable in the Daisy connection, it was still really interesting the way it turned out. "
