Publisher Description

As the five Kingdom Keepers enter high school, everything is about to change. The Maintenance Base that controls all four parks in Disney World is under attack by the Overtakers, a group determined to change Disney forever. Relationships between the Keepers are no longer as simple as they once were. In fact, nothing is as simple as it once was. An after-hours visit to Typhoon Lagoon is a game changer. The Keepers lose one of their most valuable supporters. But there's work to do....

The Disney Dream leaves Port Canaveral on a historic cruise to Los Angeles with a special treat in store for guests: the Disney Host Interactive teenage guides are on board.

Finn, Maybeck, Charlene, Willa, and Philby join celebrity guests as the DHI experience moves to one of the most advanced cruise ships in the world.

But all is not right belowdecks. Strange things are happening. Unexplained phenomena. Only the Kingdom Keepers know the truth behind their invitation to be in attendance: nearly every Disney villain is aboard the ship, including Maleficent.

The Overtakers have infiltrated the cast and crew. And no one knows what they have planned. The Dream sets sail filled with enthusiastic guests and crew. But not for long. Maleficent takes over a video screen and warns the guests of trouble to come. With the ship arriving at the beaches of Castaway Cay - its first of many exotic ports of call - the Kingdom Keepers are under attack; back home the Base is threatened and about to fall. The Overtakers have expanded in ways never foreseen, and it's clear they intend to use this element of surprise to accomplish what has eluded them so far: victory. But not if Finn Whitman and friends have anything to say about it.

"I really enjoyed the book Shell Game. It's the fifth book in the series and it really leaves you wanting to read the next book. The ending was not my favorite because it ends with them jumping off the edge of the boat and you have no idea what happens next. The book was very long and even though I like long books, this one seemed to lead no where. Usually in books there is a problem and then the problem is resolved. In Shell Game there was a problem from the very beginning and it just kept getting worse and worse. At the end the problem was still very big and it never got resolved. I hope that the at least a part of the problem will be resolved in the next book. Overall I really enjoyed the book Shell Game and I would recommend it to anyone who loves adventure, mystery, and Disney."

" I'd actually like to give this 3.5 stars. So much development in writing technique, characters, and plot! Completely surprised me and answered all my concerns or worries about the lacking in the series I previously pointed out with book four. Really enjoyed this book! I did feel that when the kids are captured during their performance and throughout the end of the book there was a slight lack of cohesion with the sequence of events. The content definitely took a leap - sword fighting, actual talk of death, and the villian's action - which is very appropriate for the high school age with the author has designated for the kids. Otherwise, well written...and did not see such a huge cliff hanger coming! "

" Book 5 in the series, getting a little boring for me but this ones ends in the middle of the action so I will have to read Book 6. "

" I got the first book in this series out of a school book order my mom brought home from work, purchasing it only because I love all things Disney and feeling like I was probably way to old to be reading it, I gave it a shot. Little did I know that I would absolutely love the series...it is suspenseful, fun, and yet realistic because you can imagine exactly where you are in your mind. Although, I am extremely angry with Mr. Pearson each time he leaves me hanging for a year after completing each book, I know that along with the enjoyment his books have brought me, I will never be able to visit Disney World again without thinking in the back of my mind..."What if it isn't just a story!" " I'm feeling that this series is starting to spin its wheels. I need some resolution. The action is well-paced and the characters continue to evolve, but I'm looking for more than the usual cliffhanger ending. I didn't connect to this book like I have others in the series, perhaps because I've never been on a Disney cruise, and therefore didn't connect with the surroundings like I did with the Disney World parks. All the same, I'm eager for the next installment. Pearson does know how to leave a girl hanging. "

" Pretty fast-moving and interesting, especially toward the end. This, like books 3 and 4, is half of a full story. Unfortunately, I'm not sure when I'll be able to get a hold of the sixth book. Whomp. "
