Vampire and thief Raylene Pendle doesn’t need more complications in her life. Her Seattle home is already overrun by a band of misfits, including Ian Stott, a blind vampire, and Adrian deJesus, an ex–Navy SEAL/drag queen. But Raylene still can’t resist an old pal’s request: seek out and steal a bizarre set of artifacts. Also on the hunt is a brilliant but certifiably crazy sorceress determined to stomp anyone who gets in her way. But Raylene’s biggest problem is that Ian, after the death of his vaunted patriarch, has become the next target of some bloodsucking sociopaths. Now Raylene must snatch up the potent relics, solve a murder, and keep Ian safe—all while fending off that psychotic sorceress. But at least she won’t be alone. A girl could do a lot worse for a partner than an ass-kicking drag queen—right?

“Witty, fast-paced, and fabulous…a vastly entertaining read!” —New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost

" This is a really well done Urban-fantasy. The characters are well developed and likable. Raylene Pendle is a vampire with issues. She has OCD, lives with two orphaned human siblings and a blind vampire. Her best friend is an ex-Navy Seal/drag Queen. Raylene has a very unorthodox career as well, she steals on commission. All of the characters stories tie in very niceIy and it seems that this was carried over from the first book. I missed the first book Bloodshot, but it was easy to pick the story without it. I liked this one so much that I will be going back to read the first. "

" It was ok, not her best work. Nothing really happened until the last couple of chapters and it wasn't nothing to get excited about. I am not a fan of the Vampire series "

" Sometimes the narrative style was a little overboard, but overall I quite enjoyed the plot, and it's a fun, enjoyable, tidy adventure. There aren't really any protagonists that you really dislike, and the heroine isn't ever really in danger, so it feels like a...comfortable, but entertaining read. "

" This was a very light read but somewhat entertaining. I'm not a big fan of narrators who feel the need to be "edgy" and have to tell the reader they are. A bit overdone here, but an okay read. "

" Very enjoyable!!! There is great character development in this installment and I love how the main character and her love interest are taking things slow...it makes the moment more exciting when they finally do admit there love for each other, looking forward to the next novel! "

" It's true that this book does not start out as good as Bloodshot. It took me a good quarter of the book to get into it, but I kept going because I liked Bloodshot quite a bit. I ended up liking Hellbent as well. Keep it coming Priest - looking forward to the next installment! "

" Raylene is back on the hunt. Ian is in danger as his father has died, and his brother may need to kill him to secure his position. Raylene and friend Adrian go to investigate what really happened to Ian's dad. As good as the first in the series in my opinion, and looking forward to next. "
