"I like this one a lot. The focus is back on the shop and town, with Betsy trying to clear the name of a man suspected of 2 murders for the past 5 years. Also she has a new boyfriend, a detective she met in the previous book, Hanging by a Thread."

" A little choppier and thinner in the plot than previous stories in this series. "
— Sara, 2/17/2014" I like the characters in this series. That fueled my desire to read all about Crewel World and Betsy Devonshire. "
— Mary, 2/13/2014" A much better written mystery and also better than many of the needlework store owner books I've read. Think I'll look for more from her. "
— Sara, 2/11/2014" I enjoy the needlecraft mystery series by Monica Ferris. They are light, quick and easy reads. Perfect for when you don't have a lot of time, but need a brief escape from the rest of the world. The grammar and sentence structure in these books isn't the best, but I'm a die-hard needleworker and I enjoy mysteries, as well. Monica winds up the mystery enough to let you form your own theories while slowly unraveling the facts and piecing them into an answer. Yes, it's fluff, but it's fluff that revolves around my favorite hobby and one of my favorite genres. "
— Jennifer, 1/30/2014" I enjoyed this book in the Needlecraft series. This time an unsolved murder leads to an investigation that finally clears the name of one of the town's own. Interesting sidelights about the needlecraft business are included in this one. "
— Patt, 1/25/2014" Minnesota mystery from the shopkeeper of the needlecraft shop "Crewel World". Fun read which sets things right and resolves wrongs. "
— Jan, 1/20/2014" If you like crafty books, this series is for you. The author usually has a pattern in the back of her book for your use. "
— Joyce, 12/26/2013" it was an okay book. "
— Kellie, 12/11/2013" Finished reading on August 17, 2008. "
— Nancy, 12/2/2013" A mystery series set in Minnesota--enjoyable "
— Jean, 11/25/2013" shop owner solves 5-yr-old mystery of double murders "
— Debbie, 11/22/2013" I don't do needlework but I enjoy this series anyway. "
— Lindig, 11/14/2013" This one was much less obvious than the previous books in the series, and for once I did not have it all solved before Betsy spelled it out. "
— Tracy, 9/6/2013" Another fun book to listen to. For some reason I enjoyed this one more than some of her books. I think I like these books because they are set in Minnesota and I recognize places. "
— Janet, 7/27/2013" Hanging by a Thread by MONICA FERRIS (2003) "
— Leigh, 7/23/2013" Love this series, but now seeing mistakes by the author in the character confiding in people she already told the clues to a second time with the same information and mixing up names of suspects. Don't know if I will continue with the series yet. "
— Becky, 5/14/2013" Interesting mystery, fun, light reading. Not a lot of "substance" to these books, but certainly entertaining. A lot of talk about needlework, as might be expected, so that's a point of interest for those who are into needlework. "
— Joy, 3/7/2013" Must have been very good, I read it in one afternoon. Nice that there were no actual murder findings - just rehashing an old case. "
— Kathie, 12/9/2012" Not my favorite so far, but still enjoyed it. "
— Faye, 12/1/2012" I loved this book! I really liked that it takes place in MN, not very far from where I used to live! Very cute cozy series. "
— Jessica, 9/10/2012" I read this book a few years ago but I can't remember it so I think I will read it again, though I am sure it was a great book:) "
— Deb, 7/15/2012" This is a very good read. It's not a typical mystery, but well worth it. "
— Meredith, 6/6/2012" This one was interesting right until the end. Besty is at her best when trying to prove someone didn't do it. She gets the perfect job from Foster Johns whom everyone in Excelsior believes murdered his mistress and her husband. Jealousy, appearances and a little bit of gossip go a long way. "
— Writerlibrarian, 6/4/2012" Again another fun and quick easy read "
