Publisher Description

Too much of a good thing.

With her long ponytail and sparkling green eyes, Tessa Donovan looks more like the girl next door than a businesswoman - or a heartbreaker. Which may explain why Detective Luke Asher barely notices her when he arrives to investigate a break-in at her family's brewery. He's got his own problems - starting with the fact that his partner, Simone, is pregnant and everyone thinks he's the father.

Tessa has her hands full, too. Her brother's playboy ways may be threatening the business, and the tension could tear her tight-knit family apart. In fact, the only thing that could unite the Donovan boys is seeing a man come after their baby sister. Especially a man like Luke Asher. But Tessa sees past the rumors to the man beneath. He's not who people think he is - and neither is she.

"This was actually a 3.5 star read for me although I rounded up to 4 stars. I really enjoy Victoria Dahl, she pretty much guarantees a fun, sexy read, but my problem with Good Girls Don't is more a personal issue than something I can blame on Miss Dahl. One of my pet peeves is the use of lies and misconceptions to spur the action in a story. Now... I understand that usually (and certainly in this particular story) it's imperative to the plot line and character development. But I just can't help it, I have a hard time liking characters who purposely lie and deceive. That may be a bit unfair on my part, sorry, but other than that issue, I can say I truly enjoyed the book and will absolutely continue with the series."

" Oh, LORD. Clearly Victoria Dahl is not for me, but what can I say? Detectives are hot! But really, this was hard to get through, and I ended up skimming a lot of it. I am, however, intrigued by the eldest brother -- and his love interest Beth, the owner of "White Orchid: erotic boutique" (LOL). So I'll probably give that a go. "

" Once I got into actually reading this, it was a quick read. Much like the other Victoria Dahl books I've read, there was plenty of steamy, explicit sex as well as a little minor mystery (that generally tends to be easily solved by the reader and less so by the characters, but I don't read these for the mystery, so I don't care). I liked Luke and Tessa ok - maybe not as much as Quinn and Lori or Jane and Chase, but enough to keep reading. I'm also looking forward to reading about Jamie and Eric in the next two in the series (recently found a way to get those books, too. YAY!) I don't know if I'd like her historical stuff as much as I like the contemporary ones - if the writing is similar, it's hard to see how it would translate. It works for Diana Gabaldon because she's got contemporary characters living in historical times, but barring time travel, I don't know how it would go for anyone else. Overall, another fun read from this author and I can't wait to read the others in this series! "

" It's a nice one. I like the way author has described the borther-sis relationship. Both the leads are cute. But i thought Luke's divorce must have been even more worse you know..idk! But it was a nice read! "

" The plot is nothing special, but the characters are quite plausible. Tessa is also annoying, but she doesn't have to be my best friend, so it was okay. "

" I love Victoria Dahl's heroines. Every single one of them is strong, funny, and best of all, not perfect. The Heroes all totally deserve these fantastic women. I'm going to do my best to read everything by her, because every book is great. "

About Victoria Dahl

Victoria Dahl lives with her family in a small town high in the Utah mountains. During the summer she hikes and drinks margaritas (usually not at the same time).
