"I really liked this book. I loved the characters, with the exception of the grandfather, who was just plain evil. I really didn't like how everyone just accepted what he did like they had no choice. That brought the rating down a bit but still an enjoyable read."
— Crystal (4 out of 5 stars)

— Michelle, 1/1/2014" Not her best, wasn't convinced that the love story got the attention it deserved. Plot over-reached and as a result was never fully developed. She did, however, capture an honest portrayal Alyssa, the character who grew up torn between being half-Chinese and half-American. Shades of Amy Tan and the Joy Luck Club, but again, underdeveloped plot. "
— Robyn, 12/29/2013" As always I really love reading books by this fantastic author "

— Jean, 7/28/2012" More of a 3.5 - it was an enjoyable easy read if slightly predictable. "
— Kirstie, 5/2/2012" After The Swerve, I wanted something light. I didn't realize this was kind of a mystery/romance combo, so the romance part was super cheesy, but it was still an OK quick fiction read just to recover from the last book. "
— Carrie, 3/29/2012" Mystery/romance. Liked the characters. "
— Clearwater178, 12/16/2011" Well written chick lit, nice and light if that is what you are in the mood for. Light mystery, girl meets boy, etc. etc. with a twist. I needed something I didn't have to concentrate on, and this filled the bill. "
