A lot has changed for Cadel Piggott recently. Everything he thought he knew about his life has been blown to bits. In some cases, literally. He still has a genius IQ and a fascination with systems of all kinds, but he‚s no longer in cahoots with Dr. Darkkon, the most powerful criminal mastermind in the world, and he’s no longer the star pupil at the Axis Institute for World Domination. In fact, now he’s in foster care, awaiting the trial at which he‚ll have to testify against evil genius Prosper English, a man who was once believed to be Cadel’s father. With round-the-clock surveillance–intended to keep him safe until he can testify–and no computer to call his own, Cadel really doesn’t have much of a life at all. So when a group called Genius Squad approaches him to join a secret investigation into GenoME, Dr. Darkkon‚s pet project, Cadel can’t say no, even though he suspects Genius Squad is not quite what it seems–and even though he’s sure they won’t be able to protect him if Prosper English makes a jailbreak.

"After reading Evil Genius I had to find out what came next. The twist and turns make this book so unpridictable and exciting! I couldn't help but read for hours, forgetting about homework and chorus. It's an exciting mystery where it's hard to tell what happens next. I can't wait to read part 3!"

" This wasn't as good as the first but was still pretty good. I really want to read the third one now! This one had less action but had a deeper plot. "
— Kaden, 2/20/2014" I seriously couldn't finish this. I tried, I really did. But it was just so dry and boring. "
— Ana, 2/2/2014" A nice, somewhat unexpected sequel to Evil Genius. "
— Jack, 1/31/2014" This was a great book. "
— Alex, 1/30/2014" I loved how Cadel made his choice to be good, but is having problems separating old tactics from what should be his new ones. I loved this book, especially the last couple pages. "
— Jess, 1/26/2014" I read this one as an audio book, which might have tainted my feelings about it a bit. It was such a long book to listen to, especially for my attention span. I liked the concept, but didn't quite care for how it was carried out all the time. "
— Jo, 1/23/2014" awesome continuation to the series! the ending, though predictable, was sweet and well done, as usual for Jinks. Can't wait to read Genius Wars! "
— Dev, 1/17/2014" I think tweens would enjoy this series about a very smart young man who rebels against authority. "
— Jeanne, 1/12/2014" Good read. Great tension. "
— Stephanie, 12/26/2013" In the sequel to Genius Squad, Cadel has another encounter with Prosper English. He is kidnapped, and only his friend (and police officer) can save him. "
— 7709kyle, 12/26/2013" Cadel, Cadel "
— Alex, 12/9/2013" My kids and I are all loving this series. Standing in line for the next one. "
— Christine, 10/6/2013" Like most sequels, this one wasn't quite as good as the original. However, Cadel's search for redemption and growth of a conscience is still an intriguing premise in any book. "
— Madeline, 8/8/2013" This book is for adolescents, but not written "down" at what adults generally think is an adolescent level. I appreciate this.... There's a good brain behind this book. "
— Beckett, 5/15/2013" Probably give it a 5 for a YA reader. Solid. "
— Kevin, 12/19/2012" The first book was more amazing and the writing style of this book was not up to the scratch as previously done, but that improved after some times. I just hoped there was a competent enough editor. I caught six mistakes, mostly in spelling Sonja's name. "
— Norain, 12/5/2012" I really enjoyed this book- it caught my attention immiediatly, just like the first one. "
— Rainheart, 10/13/2012" Ehhh. It was a little bit of a tough read, and I often felt like I was just reading descriptions of things (well done descriptions, but still) as opposed to an actual story line. 2.5/5 "
— Rhi, 10/10/2012" Sequel to Evil Genius. Pretty good story with lots of twists; set up for the next book is promising. "
— Angela, 9/27/2012" I really enjoy this series. Great characters. Interesting plot. Plus, it made me cry a few happy tears at the end. "

— Rhi, 6/10/2011" I feel like this one was at the slower pace than the first one. There was so much more potential with the squad and living at foster homes. I was delighted with the ending however :) "
— B, 6/9/2011" Not as good as the first book. It focuses on the needs of Sonja alot. "
