"Frog and Toad were sitting by a pond and Frog wanted ice cream, so Toad ran to get some. While he was coming back, he got covered in ice cream because the hot sun melted it. Then he got covered in leaves in sticks because the ice cream was sticky. A rabbit ran by Frog and told him there was a big monster with sticks and leaves and horns coming this way, but it was really just Toad. That was my favorite chapter."

“For fans of these famous amphibians, the continuation of Frog and Toad’s saga gives a glimpse of what those rascals are up to all year long…This timeless original well deserves its recognition as an ALA Notable Children’s Book.”
— Amazon.com, editorial review“Lobel’s peerless, though much imitated, animal comrades do a little borrowing of their own here when Frog goes around the corner to look for spring…Frog and Toad can still transform the most ordinary seasonal activities into celebrations.”
— Kirkus Reviews" Frog and Toad. They are so sweet and wonderful. I love the art and the short stories. THese books teach valuable life lessons and they never once get preachy or talk down to the reader. Good for kindergarten and up. "
— Megan, 2/19/2014" Beginning readers will enjoy the (tragically!) final volume of the Frog and Toad treasury, which features a story for each season in which Frog is his optimistic self and Toad is his slightly worried self, and both are the best of friends. "
— Erin, 2/16/2014" Another delightful Frog and Toad book about a great friendship. "
— Molly, 2/11/2014" This is a chapter book that follows to best friends, Frog and Toad. The story contains 5 mini stories that entail the two friends lives throughout the different season in the year. I also enjoyed reading this story as a child. I think that the book does a really great job of breaking down the story into little chapters. This way beginner readers can slowly work through the book. I do think that since it is designed for beginners, that an older more experienced reader would get bored quickly. However, there are a lot of really cute stories that demonstrate friendship and could be useful to use in a classroom, even if it is just for some fun. "
— Paige, 1/19/2014" I loved all of the Frog and Toad books growing up. I like reading them as an adult because it rejuvenates my imagination. "

— Kristy, 12/21/2013" At least for me, the Frog and Toad stories are the 'gold standard' for very-early-chapter primers & for friendship stories. Every time I read them with my sons or reread them myself for a comforting pleasure, I just felt the warm fuzzy 'aww.' But they're not sappy either; there's plenty of drama. "
— Cheryl, 10/26/2013" This is my kids' favorite book. All four of them gather around and ask me to read it, particularly the story about the melting chocolate ice cream. Frog and Toad are awesome! "
— Laura, 9/23/2013" Classic Arnold Lobel, and the adventures of Frog and Toad. Recommended for all young children. "
— Sheila, 3/7/2013" With each chapter teaching a different lesson based off of friendship this book can be used as an easy chapter book and to teach about seasons. "
— Scarlet, 2/18/2013" Indio Ioves all of the stories in this volume. We've been reading one or two or all of the tales before bed quite a bit lately and there seems to be no end in sight! "
— Sheba, 8/15/2012" Everyone needs a friend like Frog or Toad. Good for beginning readers. "
