"Frog and Toad were sitting by a pond and Frog wanted ice cream, so Toad ran to get some. While he was coming back, he got covered in ice cream because the hot sun melted it. Then he got covered in leaves in sticks because the ice cream was sticky. A rabbit ran by Frog and told him there was a big monster with sticks and leaves and horns coming this way, but it was really just Toad. That was my favorite chapter."

" Frog and Toad. They are so sweet and wonderful. I love the art and the short stories. THese books teach valuable life lessons and they never once get preachy or talk down to the reader. Good for kindergarten and up. "

" This is a chapter book that follows to best friends, Frog and Toad. The story contains 5 mini stories that entail the two friends lives throughout the different season in the year. I also enjoyed reading this story as a child. I think that the book does a really great job of breaking down the story into little chapters. This way beginner readers can slowly work through the book. I do think that since it is designed for beginners, that an older more experienced reader would get bored quickly. However, there are a lot of really cute stories that demonstrate friendship and could be useful to use in a classroom, even if it is just for some fun. "

" At least for me, the Frog and Toad stories are the 'gold standard' for very-early-chapter primers & for friendship stories. Every time I read them with my sons or reread them myself for a comforting pleasure, I just felt the warm fuzzy 'aww.' But they're not sappy either; there's plenty of drama. "
