New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Crusie returns with her most hilarious, sizzling novel yet

Nell Dysart’s in trouble. Her divorce is 18 months old, she’s been sleepwalking through life, and the best job she can get is with a detective agency that specializes in relationship work. Determined to turn her life around, Nell flings herself into making McKenna Investigations a better place.

On day one, she uncovers an embezzler. On day two, she turns up bribery. On day three, she has sex with the wrong man. On day four, she steals a dog. On day five, her boss tries to fire her…and fails miserably. Because even Gabe McKenna has to admit that no matter how much he hates the confusion she’s brought into his life, Nell shares his passion for making things right. It’s not long before they share another passion, one they can’t ignore—even in the face of distractions like adultery, blackmail, arson, murder, and really bad business cards.

Listener Opinions

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Sherry | 2/16/2014

" I really enjoyed this book. I listened to the audio version. The only thing I found really annoying was how the word said was over used. When two characters are having a conversation the author shouldn't have to state Nell said or Gabe said after each sentence. Other than that I loved this book, it had a good storyline, the characters came to life. This is the first Jennifer Cruise book I've read, I will definitely try another one. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Ellen | 1/31/2014

" Read this years ago and recently re-read it. It's really even better on the second read. A great story about re-examining old choices and finding life after divorce. And it's funny. And it's got great mystery elements. The romance between the central characters isn't my favorite part of the book, but it's nice. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Carrie | 2/6/2012

" This was my first Crusie book. Fast Women was fun and entertaining but did drag a bit in the beginning. I always enjoy a mystery, and it was nice to have romance involved as well. There may be more Crusie books in my future. "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Hazel | 1/2/2012

" This came highly recommended, so I'm disappointed to find it completely unengaging. There seems nothing remarkable in content, nor in style. Finishing it would have been a waste of my time. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Sofia Galvez | 10/30/2011

" 2.5 stars. The book had too many charcters to keep track of. ask me what the bookis about and i couldnt tell you cause there were too many storylines. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Gianthogweed | 5/18/2011

    " 2,5

The plot is not bad and as usual the characters are nice but they have killed me with their chit-chats. It's too dragged. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Hael | 5/6/2011

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Sherri | 5/5/2011

" Crusie, what's not to love?
This book is made up of a series of events that all combine to deliver the promised hours of chuckling and snorting, on the part of the reader, of course.
Fast to fall for~easy to read. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 gina~* | 4/10/2011

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Joan | 4/8/2011

" Another hit for me from Jennifer Crusie. A good story with well developed characters. The dialogue between all of the characters quick and fun. He characters were all so human with all of the frailities that we mortals have. It was a well developed story line, too. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Michelle | 4/1/2011

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Katie | 3/24/2011

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Jo-Ann | 3/16/2011

" Sandra Burr does men's voices better than women's! "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Annis | 2/8/2011

" Charming, fluffy and delightfully slow in building the romance. I really appreciate that it didn't become all flowers and kittens, that the characters had to work on it. The case was interesting too and occasionally even chilling. Nice! "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Penelope | 1/6/2011

" A fun read but not one of Crusie's best. "
