In a land where magic has been forgotten but peace has reigned for centuries, a deadly unrest is simmering. Three kingdoms grapple for power--brutally transforming their subjects' lives in the process. Amidst betrayals, bargains, and battles, four young people find their fates forever intertwined: Cleo: A princess raised in luxury must embark on a rough and treacherous journey into enemy territory in search of a magic long thought extinct. Jonas: Enraged at injustice, a rebel lashes out against the forces of oppression that have kept his country impoverished--and finds himself the leader of a people's revolution centuries in the making. Lucia: A girl adopted at birth into a royal family discovers the truth about her past--and the supernatural legacy she is destined to wield. Magnus: Bred for aggression and trained to conquer, a firstborn son begins to realize that the heart can be more lethal than the sword... The only outcome that's certain is that kingdoms will fall. Who will emerge triumphant when all they know has collapsed? "Falling Kingdoms will gut you emotionally. It will make you ache, cry, and beg for the sequel as you turn the last page. I absolutely loved it."--Julie Kagawa, New York Times bestselling author of The Iron Queen "This triple-layered tale of bloodshed, heartbreak, and tangled court intrigue kept me turning pages very late into the night."--Lesley Livingston, award-winning author of Wondrous Strange

"AMAZING WONDERFUL MARVELOUS FANTASTIC! Absolutely the best book I've read in a long time! I could NOT put this book down and cannot wait to read more by Morgan Rhodes aka Michelle Rowen. The fantasy world was so descriptive and just jumped out of the page at the reader. The characters good and bad were wonderful and so well developed and each grew and matured along with the story. And with all great fantasy books there was a fantastic epic battle toward the end that was every bit worth the wait. Some beloved characters survived book one and some did not. And these deaths though awful made the story that much richer and that much real. I CANNOT wait to see where this series goes from here!"

— Julie Kagawa, New York Times bestselling author of The Iron Queen“Narrator Fred Berman quickly draws the listener into a complex world of rival kingdoms, secrets, conspiracies, and murder, a world not unlike that in Game of Thrones…The enhanced varied accents Berman uses for the kingdom’s many citizens ensure smooth transitions between the alternating viewpoints. Berman is especially gifted at conveying emotional intent: Jonas’ barely controlled anger hissed between gritted teeth, Magnus’ clipped tones of contempt and disgust at his father’s greed, and Princess Cleo’s fierce determination to save her sister. The strong performance will resonate with fans of epic fantasy.”

— Lesley Livingston, award-winning author of Wondrous Strange" Good story and well written. It's similar to Game of Thrones in that there's a lot of drama and bad things happening to the characters. It's still incredibly intriguing. My only complaint is that I wish I connected to the characters more. I don't have a favorite character and none of are very good people. They have their moments of good but it doesn't last long. However, that's what keeps the story interesting. "
— Readinista, 2/12/2014" It felt lacking in depth, story and character-building but with lots of potential to get better with the sequel. The action and fighting scenes could also get better. "

— Becca, 7/21/2013" Interesting, strictly fantasy, not sure if I am going to read the rest of the series. It was good just not intriguing enough to get the rest of the books. "
— Lori, 6/22/2013" More please!!!!!!! Loved this one :) "

— Carlos, 1/27/2013Morgan Rhodes always wanted to be a princess—the kind that knows how to wield a sharp sword to save kingdoms and princes from fire-breathing dragons and dark wizards. Instead, she became a writer, which is just as good and much less dangerous. Along with writing, Morgan enjoys photography, travel, and reality TV, and is an extremely picky yet voracious reader of all kinds of books. She lives in Ontario, Canada.
