At the heart of this stunning and suspenseful story about Nazi espionage lies a ruthless killer whose code name is "The Needle". Because of his level of expertise and skill, he is privy to all of the utmost secrets the Allies' think they are maintaining. However, because of his knowledge and because of his yearnings as an assassin, he's willing to do whatever it takes to bring victory to the country he loves.

What he's not expecting is to encounter another human being who seems bent on capturing his heart. He meets the lonely Englishwoman on a deserted island, and although he's on a mission of murder, he can't help but be captivated by her. For someone whose sole purpose in life is to defend Germany and fight for the cause of his leader, "The Needle" finds himself struggling to maintain control over the things his heart is leading him to do.
