Publisher Description

At the age of 31, Betty Eadie died after routine surgery. The events that followed can only be described as the most profound and extensive near-death experience ever recorded. During the time she was clinically dead, Betty was given knowledge of the afterlife that would make even the greatest skeptic think twice. As she traveled through the spiritual realm, she learned more about the laws and history of the universe than perhaps anyone before her. She explains with uncanny detail the reasons why we have chosen to be on this earth at this time in history, and how all out actions are growing experiences for our immortal spirits.

In those few minutes that stretched into eternity, Betty's life was changed forever. In this special unabridged recording of Embraced by the Light, she shares the vision of a world she never imagined existed, and gives new meaning to the question, "Why are we here?"

"This is one of the few books I have ever read from cover to cover. This is also one of only 2 books I ever read that gave me a very noticeable feeling after reading it. I mean you can get some certain SUBTLE feelings after reading any book. I think people that say books come to life and jump off the pages are exaggerating. But the same goes with if you view a picture, her music, ect.I got a feeling of lightness and expandedness after reading it. It was the first book I got that feeling with. All my reading dates are rough estimates. The years are usually correct. I knew a past Pentecostal church friend that went from being really filled with the Holy Spirit to doing a complete 180 degree turn the WRONG WAY and going backslid. He went from having passed out on the floor having to be carried out to the vehicle Holy Ghost encounters to abruptly stop going to church. He also started talking worldly vulgar language. I talked with my other past church friend and we were saying that he seemed pretty smart or something to that effect. Then, John will call him said "yea, but there is such thing as being too smart for your own good." "Shoot if that's the case than the whole world must be too smart for there own good," I responded. I always wondered what it was that made most of the world too smart for there own good. Then after reading this I believe I finally figured it out. I knew there had too be something preachers were not telling me. Being "too smart for one's own good" isn't necessarily a bad thing. Because it helps people make educated choices. It helps them to steer their ship to the best island (the place that makes them happy, la de da). Betty Eadie has a few similar characteristics that my former preacher had. She says things in the most simple laymen terms. She satisfies people's questions. In other words she doesn't says responses that would make you go "what?!?" She said she would keep preaching until her body gives out. His body did eventually give out. I seen him preach only one time."

" This book will question your soul but it will also touch the very fibers of your beliefs. We all seek the knowledge of whether or not we continue after death. This is another inspiring book of which you will undoubtedly strengthen your beliefs. Because subconsciously we all believe there is a God or some kind of creator we will eventually meet. If you need scientific proof then I suggest you also read the book by Dr. Alexander called Proof of Heaven. "

About Betty J. Eadie

Betty J. Eadie, author of the international bestseller Embraced by the Light, had the most eminent, prominent, and extensive near-death experience ever recorded when she died after a routine surgery. The experience led her to study psychology and the human response to death. She also graduated from the worlds largest school of hyponosis before opening a clinic to examine the subconscious mind and soul. She has written several books in an effort to share with others what her experience taught her about God and mans existence, the meaning of life, and what waits in the afterlife. Betty has given countless lectures and interviews and made radio and television appearances across America and abroad. Since her initial success in the publishing world, she has opened her own publishing house and continues to study others near-death experiences.
