"Not as interesting (from an "insight into the author perspective") as the first volume, but the quality of the stories is much higher. The "Hedge Knight" is perhaps the best of this book, and gives an insight into how good the Song of Ice and Fire series is destined to be. "

" A collection of George R.R. Martin's science fiction, horror, and fantasy short stories. Grey Alice was my favorite and it was one of the best stories I've ever read. "

" Sandkings is one of the greatest SF stories I have ever read. Nightflyers and the Tuf stories are also very good. "

" Some unabridged stories from the the book plus the author reading his intro comments. The best part of an audiobook to me is hearing the author read his material. I'm not sure yet since I haven't read the entire book but there may be audio not included in the print version. "

" I love George R.R. Martin. He is possibly my "favorite" author. Dreamsongs Volume II has some excellent short stories: The Siren Song of Hollywood, The Skin Trade, A Beast for Norn, The Glass Flower, ...to name a few. Very enjoyable collection! "

" Reread this in August of 2009 after receiving this as a gift back a few years ago. The version I have is actually the UK version that encompasses both volumes. Martin proves himself the master of more than just "epic fantasy" and this is well worth the read. "

" Not as good as Dreamsongs: Volume I. This one focuses more on screenplays and some work from the Wild Cards series. I just couldn't get into this one as much as the first volume. The author commentary is also a lacking some of that freshness that was in the first one. "

" Continuation of Volume I with more short stories and some screenplays. The selection doesn't quite have the same amount of amazing works, but when they're good, they're mind blowingly so. "

" Same as the Volume I - some really great stories, some that were just pretty good. Overall, very, very good though. "

About George R. R. Martin

George R. R. Martin sold his first story in 1971 and has been writing professionally ever since. He spent ten years in Hollywood as a writer-producer, working on The Twilight Zone, Beauty and the Beast, and various feature films and television pilots that were never made. In the mid ’90s he returned to prose, his first love, and began work on his epic fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire. He has been in the Seven Kingdoms ever since. Whenever he’s allowed to leave, he returns to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he lives with the lovely Parris, a big white dog called Mischa, and two cats named Augustus and Caligula, who think they run the place.
