Syrie James approaches Bram Stoker's classic Dracula with a breathtaking new perspective-as, for the first time, Mina Harker records the shocking story of her scandalous seduction and sexual rebirth. Who is this magnetic, fascinating man? And how could one woman fall so completely under his spell? Mina Harker is torn between two men. Struggling to hang on to the deep, pure love she's found within her marriage to her husband, Jonathan, she is inexorably drawn into a secret, passionate affair with a charismatic but dangerous lover. This haunted and haunting creature has awakened feelings and desires within her that she has never before known, remaking her as a woman. Although everyone she knows fears him and is pledged to destroy him, Mina sees a side to him that the others cannot: a tender, romantic side; a man who's taken full advantage of his gift of immortality to expand his mind and talents; a man who is deeply in love and who may not be so guilty of evil after all. • “With its poetic, 19th-century prose style, this tale about a fierce, forbidden romance will appeal to even the most jaded romance fan.”

" I adore James' writing and eagerly looked forward to reading this one as soon as it was released. I do wish that I hadn't read 'Dracula in Love' before this one because I kept making unfair comparisons and 'Dracula in Love' kept winning. This was a good read and I enjoyed my time that I spent in Mina's world. I liked her spin on the Dracula story as well, but I needed more passion from Mina, especially when it came to Dracula. Overall, when I closed the cover for the last time I felt satisfied with the story and was glad that I spent some time reading this book. "

" I mostly bought this book with a silly title on a lark. I expected it to be empty but I liked the original story of Dracula so well that revisiting the same characters in another way was a welcome thought. I was pleasantly surprised at how capturing the story was and how much I got drawn into the story. I highly recommend it for any romantic Dracula fans who like a dark love story. "

" I was going to read this but I made the mistake of flipping through it one day. Now I'm hooked. Plus I love the title. Cheesy I know but still... "

" I enjoyed this book in spite of the whiney monotonous blathering of the main character. Overall it was a good story. "
