Bestselling author Nora Roberts dazzles once again with a powerful tale of passion, murder, and small-town scandal. In this classic novel, a woman returns to the home she left behind, to a past that is waiting to kill her.... A decade ago, sculptor Clare Kimball fled Emmitsboro, Maryland, to take the art world by storm. Now she’s celebrated as the artist of her generation. But no amount of success can eclipse the nightmares that haunt her—or the memories of her father’s suicide. Just as her star is shining brighter than ever, Clare leaves it all behind to face her demons. Emmitsboro sheriff Cameron Rafferty loved Clare from afar all through high school. Now that she’s back, they form a bond that grows stronger each day—fueled by an attraction that’s been simmering for years. But Clare’s past soon rises up with a vengeance, rocking the town with a sinister murder that is clearly linked to her return. As an investigation gets under way, Clare and Cameron will learn that evil can linger anywhere—even in those you love and trust the most. But it’s a discovery that may come too late to save them.…

"This book was very dark, with a lot of devil worship, murder, rape, drugs, and kidnapping. It was able to hold my attention. My only complaint is that it was a bit drug out. The ending was a bit twisted as well. It is very different than the normal romance books that i read, but that is probably why I stayed interested"
— Destin (4 out of 5 stars)
" Enjoyed the book. Liked the characters. I, however, will never rate a book a 5 star when the author thinks the story needs bad language. I have read enough Christian authors to know you can right a book of any genre' without implementing bad language. "
— Leiani, 2/20/2014" I enjoyed this, many of her books are a combination of mystery and romance and this is no exception. This book delves into Satanic worship as a large part of the plot. "
— Sandy, 2/17/2014" This was the first NR book I read and I enjoyed it- I was quite pleased with the twist at the end which somehow elevated the story - will definitely read another of hers "
— Vikki, 2/13/2014" Good book. Some of the evil of man was easy to imagine but hard to stomach. "
— Carrie.neuburger, 2/9/2014" Disturbed me. Sitting in the convent at night (Working) reading about evil. Just scary. But i kept reading it anyways. Glo. "
— Gloria, 2/6/2014" this book was different then her others not necessarily my favorie "
— Laurie, 2/2/2014" I thought this book was very good i was very suprised who was really behind the satanic group. "
— Charlene, 1/26/2014" This book disturbed me in so many ways; but was such a page turner. I loved the suspense and very shocking ending. First Nora Roberts book- got me hooked. "
— Meredith, 1/20/2014" Cheesy but fun. Reminds of those wonderful old horror novels about rabid devil worship I used to get as a kid back in the 80's at the grocery store. Since it was written in '92 it kinda was at the tail end of the Satanic Panic...good times. "
— Scott, 1/15/2014" IF YOU LIKED THE BLOOD BROTHERS TRILOGY YOU WILL LOVE THIS ONE... "
— Jessica, 1/2/2014" Another book from my grandmothers shelf. I haven't read too many Nora Roberts books, but I actually really enjoyed reading this one. "
— Cameo, 12/18/2013" I liked that it was a bit different that usual Nora Roberts books. It was just nice way to pass time. "
— K., 12/18/2013" Even if you are pre-conditioned by the J. D. Robb "In Death" Series, this one is very dark. Of course, the title warns of this, but this one if not for the faint-of-heart. I lit candles while reading this one...and slept with the lights on. "
— Gayle, 11/20/2013" While I usually really like this author's writing, this book was just too creepy for my taste. There's plenty of action, suspense and romance and it's actually a believable storyline but as I stated before it's really creepy and a little to gory for me. "
— Patricia, 11/14/2013" This wasn't entirely typical romance. They didn't wait until the end to get it on, nor did it end with babies and marriage. And it was suitably creepy with the topic of Satanism... which also, not so typical romance. "
— Tory, 11/9/2013" Excellent book. Some twists and turns I didn't expect, some I figured out. Did not want to put it down once I started reading it. "
— Erin, 6/1/2013" Non male, anche se in alcuni punti manca un po' di approfondimento psicologico dei personaggi. "
— Manuela, 5/17/2013" It was very interesting-love,mystery ,murder but I don't like the ending. "
— КриÑтина, 5/4/2013" Read years ago and again last month - great read! "
— Joan, 7/5/2012" Isn't Nora Roberts known for her romance novels? This is basically a romance story except she throws in a Satanic cult. Is she trying to get a new audience? This was okay to listen to but I would never have spent time reading it. "
— Kelly, 4/30/2012" I loved this book!! This is my third time reading it. But then I love all Nora Roberts' books. I wish they would put Mirror Image in e-book format. "
— Lorez, 2/25/2012" I wanted to enjoy this and I was really in the mood for the light-hearted entertainment Roberts excels at. Unfortunately, the plot required far too much suspension of disbelief and I never really felt the level of suspense the novel clearly aimed at. "
— Susan, 12/20/2011" This was a very good story with suspense and a little romance. "
— Aloha, 12/8/2011" Very intense and scary at times, but extremely well written. Frightening to think that this type of thing really happens here in America. "
— Annette, 9/23/2011" I really didn't care for this book and did not finish it. "
— Mm, 9/13/2011" Did not like this book at all. Not that the romance part wasn't good, but the base story line I did nto like. I have yet to read a book by Nora Roberts that I didn't like. But this is one of them. "
— Andrea, 9/2/2011" This is a great book, but soem readers will be a little put out by some of the secondary story lines. I have read all of Nora Roberts books and so I rated all most all of them a 4, the 5's are reserved for my utmost favorites. "
— Genia, 6/18/2011" This is the first book that I read. I have enjoyed reading Nora Robert's book since. "
— Angie, 6/16/2011" I did not want this to end......Very good Book "
— Kim, 5/13/2011" Romance with a little bit of evil Satan worshipers thrown in. A good read, but not one of her best. "
— Bonnie, 5/2/2011" it was an amazing storie. i hope to read more of noras roberts books. it was so breath taking i couldent belive it. "
— Dulce, 4/22/2011" This was everything I was looking for in a romance novel. The relationship between Clare and Cam was utterly heartwarming. The plot was brilliantly paced. There were none of those dull moments. There was a great ending too.

Not much to fault, now converted to Nora Roberts! "
— Elaine, 4/15/2011" This was so good. Totally different than anything that I usually read. It was very dark and creepy, but wow! It was good. It stayed a page turner for me. I never got bored with the story. "
— Veronica, 4/14/2011" Chilling. Nora Roberts is an excellent story teller. Divine Evil reminds us that we never truly know what's behind the even the everyday faces of the people we know. "

"
— Manuela, 3/10/2011" This book was dark and mysterious and sucked me in almost immediately! I loved this book and all of the characters were easy to adore. If you like a good mystery, this is for you.. and you will never see these twists and turns coming :) "
