Listener Opinions

" A really exciting ride, however it began to lose steam when the red herring was a bit too distant from the case. Moreover, the red herring story was also pretty interesting and I wanted to know more... maybe in one of the future novels we will find out? "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Papalodge | 1/1/2014

" Probably more a 3 1/2 stars, but I'll give it the whole 4. Peter Diamond is a very human detective...never more so than in Diamond Dust. Fully dimensional characters, juicy plotting, emotionally wrenching. Murder. Betrayal. Tension. Diamond Dust has it all. "

" Average mystery, by far not my favorite in this series. The first, The Last Detective, is still the best of the Peter Diamond set. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Mary G. | 5/18/2013

" A good read. Lovesey is new to me, and while the story and much of the writing was quite good, there was much of the British 'upper-lip' attitude that I find less interesting than work by Americans. Still, I'll probably check out others in the Diamond series. "
