Det hvide skib (eng. titel: The White Ship) er en horror/fantasy-historie, der er skrevet af H. P. Lovecraft. Novellen blev første gang udgivet i The United Amateur (Volume 19) #2 i november 1919. Novellen blev genudgivet i Weird Tales fra marts 1927. Basil Elton, fyrpasseren på Norton-fyret, inddrages i en ejendommelig fantasi, i hvilken en skægget mand, klædt i en kutte, kommer sejlende med et mystisk hvidt skib, hver gang månen er fuld. Basil Elton vandrer ombord på skibet på en bro af månestråler for at følge den skæggede mand på hans sejlads, og sammen drager de af sted for at udforske en mystisk øgruppe, der er anderledes and nogen anden, man ellers kan finde i hele verden...

About H. P. Lovecraft

H. P. Lovecraft (1890–1937) was an American author who achieved posthumous fame through his influential works of horror fiction. Virtually unknown and only published in pulp magazines before he died in poverty, he is now regarded as one of the most significant twentieth-century authors in his genre. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island, where he lived most of his life. His relatively small corpus of work consists of three short novels and about sixty short stories.
