Publisher Description

Benni Harper, a curator of the local folk art museum and amateur detective, is the star of this best-selling Agatha Award-winning series. Her talent for finding trouble surfaces in an unlikely place-her own church. While helping her grandmother direct the children's musical, Benni finds the beaten body of the church handyman. Soon, other mysteries compel her to investigate, despite the warnings from her husband Gabe, the chief of police.

"This is really more a 3 1/2 stars for me, as it was a great story but felt sort of disjointed to me instead of flowing easily like all the rest of her books did. The ending was dramatic, and sad but ultimately true to the overall tone of the series. Good mysteries within the plot as well."

" this was my favorite of the 3 books I have read by Earlene Fowler. Clues in the book lead you to the same conclusion as the ending...I like that better than when the ending pops out of nowhere :-) If you like mysteries with believable characters and lives, this is a good one. "
