Faerie can't lie . . . or can they?
Much has changed since autumn, when Kelley Winslow learned she was a Faerie princess, fell in love with changeling guard Sonny Flannery, and saved the mortal realm from the ravages of the Wild Hunt. Now Kelley is stuck in New York City, rehearsing Romeo and Juliet and missing Sonny more with every stage kiss, while Sonny has been forced back to the Otherworld and into a deadly game of cat and mouse with the remaining Hunters and Queen Mabh herself.
When a terrifying encounter sends Kelley tumbling into the Otherworld, her reunion with Sonny is joyful but destined to be cut short. An ancient, hidden magick is stirring, and a dangerous new enemy is willing to risk everything to claim that power. Caught in a web of Faerie deception and shifting allegiances, Kelley and Sonny must tread carefully, for each next step could topple a kingdom . . . or tear them apart.
With breathtakingly high stakes, the talented Lesley Livingston delivers soaring romance and vividly magical characters in darklight, the second novel in the trilogy that began with wondrous strange.

"I gave this a five star rating because I read it in one sitting. I could not put it down. The action was suspensful and the pace was enough to keep me going from chapter to chapter without much pause between events to find a "good stopping point". My only complaint is that we had to walk away, again, without resolve for Kelley and Sonny...Now, I know this is a trilogy, so we've got to drag it out a bit more and a cliffhanger ending is what really makes us hold on for book three, but Urghhh...I was so aggravated. I guess that's what makes a good book though, one that keeps you on edge until the great sigh of relief at the end of the journey...And I better get a great sigh of relief!"

“In the world of Twilight read-alikes, Livingston’s novels stand out. Kelley has personality and spunk that Bella and others are missing, and the ‘star-crossed’ romance between Kelley and Sonny is more emotional and genuine than others in this genre.”
— School Library Journal“Its cliffhanger ending will leave them screaming for more. [Livingston] injects an element of Celtic legend and lore that adds a different dimension to this dark, sinister, and violent urban faerie tale…Sonny and Kelley are likable and interesting, and readers will be pulling for them. A complicated plot with many major unexpected twists and a full cast of well-crafted characters make this title stand ahead of many others in the genre.”
— VOYA“Action-packed…This middle book ends with an ominous cliff-hanger, leaving all characters in dire straits, and readers will anxiously await the concluding volume.”
— Booklist“Urban faerie killers, star-crossed lovers, rival courts and a spot of Shakespeare vie for center stage…Fans of the first volume will especially relish the ending, which hints at darker things to come.”

"

— Sarah, 10/16/2013" As with Wondrous Strange, this was much better on a second reading a few years after the first. I certainly deserves much more than a cursory, hurried read! Great adventure and love story that just gets deeper and darker as it goes... (First read March 2010) "
— Lillian, 10/1/2013" The revelations and events in this book leave you scrambling to get your hands on the next one as soon as humanly possible. "

— Chantele, 1/7/2013" Another winner! I am so loving this series. I devoured this book in almost one sitting. I can't wait to see what happens to Kelley and Sonny next. I hope the third book doesn't take too long to come out. *crosses fingers* Must read book... "
— Amber, 10/31/2012" Kelly really isn't a good heroine. Sure, a good character has to make mistakes, but is supposed to LEARN from them. Unfortunately, (and I promised myself I never would refer to Twilight in a review) Kelly reminds me of Bella. Sorry, but it's true. "
— Alise, 4/24/2012" i really enjoyed this series...i hope to see it put to a movie some day. the inside cover says this is a trilogy but i think the ending could be left open for more to come....i'll keep my fingers crossed :) "
— ~bizbuff~, 12/29/2011" I liked this book but not as much as the first in the series. Then again, I almost never love the middle book of a trilogy. "
— Janyne, 12/19/2011" I loved the second book by Lesley Livingston---the story is great and I love how it has some theatre elements and how it focuses on the Celtic folk-lore. It was amazing and the ending was heart-breaking. :*( I can't wait for the next book!! "
— Jessika, 7/11/2011" Satisfied my belief in faeries "
— Nicole, 5/17/2011" Book two in this trilogy of urban Faerie adventure romance. Very much a la Twilight, but I think it's better done. Not 5-star better done, but a fun read. There is some swearing, but all in all a great read! "
— Alyssa, 5/12/2011" After kelley saved sonny with her new found fairy powers from becoming the permanent rider of the wild hunt sonny is send to hunt the wild hunt by in all of avalon leaving kelley alone to finish her romeo and juliet performance. "
— Domene, 4/6/2011" This book took me so long to read because I found it boring. I love the idea of it, but I found the book slow and boring. I will read the next one because, well, now I'm committed. I do like the characters and the story but the delivery could have been better. "
— Tania, 4/5/2011" I would recommend this for younger teens. Too much unrealistic love, lovelorn teen love. Love is not like that people. This is the kind of book that builds unrealistic expectations of what love is. A fae princess, a hidden fae prince? How about lowly fae? "
— Michele, 3/25/2011" I really enjoyed this book. Way better than the first. Full of hidden secrets, Kelley using more of her fae powers. We learn Sonny is way more than human. Can't wait to read the final book. Would recommend to others to read. "
— Jedivampsnfey, 3/23/2011" i really enjoyed this series...i hope to see it put to a movie some day. the inside cover says this is a trilogy but i think the ending could be left open for more to come....i'll keep my fingers crossed :) "
— ~bizbuff~, 3/10/2011" I found Darklight better than the first book in the series yet it clearly lacks depth. I did enjoy it but by the end of the book I found myself unsatisfied and not sure if I want to read the next in the series "
— Melissa, 3/5/2011" Yayy! One more book left! WILL SONNY AND KELLEY BE TOGETHER? WILL SHE END UP WITH THAT WOLF GUY? IMPORTANT QUESTIONNNNSSSS!

Sorry. I'm in a spazzy mood. :3 "
— Dana, 3/2/2011" An easy fun read. "
— Lily, 3/1/2011" I became so annoyed with Kelley and sometimes wanted to punch her in the face. I didn't like it since it was like any other normal YA paranormal book. Very disappointing but who could say I didn't see it coming? "
— Jennifer, 2/28/2011" 3.5 to be exact. Better than the first, more plausible relationships, etc. Now I just need book #3 to come into the library and we'll finish this thing off. "
