From the acclaimed author of Infected comes an epic and exhilarating story of humanity’s secret battle against a horrific enemy. Across America, a mysterious pathogen transforms ordinary people into raging killers, psychopaths driven by a terrifying, alien agenda. The human race fights back, yet after every battle the disease responds, adapts, using sophisticated strategies and brilliant ruses to fool its pursuers. The only possible explanation: the epidemic is driven not by evolution but by some malevolent intelligence. Standing against this unimaginable threat is a small group, assembled under the strictest secrecy. Their best weapon is hulking former football star Perry Dawsey, left psychologically shattered by his own struggles with this terrible enemy, who possesses an unexplainable ability to locate the disease’s hosts. Violent and unpredictable, Perry is both the nation’s best hope and a terrifying liability. Hardened CIA veteran Dew Phillips must somehow forge a connection with him if they’re going to stand a chance against this maddeningly adaptable opponent. Alongside them is Margaret Montoya, a brilliant epidemiologist who fights for a cure even as she reels under the weight of endless horrors. These three and their team have kept humanity in the game, but that’s not good enough anymore, not when the disease turns contagious, triggering a fast countdown to Armageddon. Meanwhile, other enemies join the battle, and a new threat — one that comes from a most unexpected source — may ultimately prove the most dangerous of all. Catapulting the reader into a world where humanity’s life span is measured in hours and the president’s finger hovers over the nuclear button, rising star Scott Sigler takes us on a breathtaking, hyper-adrenalized ride filled with terror and jaw-dropping action. Contagious is a truly grand work of suspense, science, and horror from a new master.

"Well-written, tightly constructed story about an alien attack where people become incubators for micro-organisms which hatch and then construct gateways that will allow invaders access to Earth. Chapters are short and punchy, the pace fast, both of which I liked. But the characters are difficult to bond with because the story is told from so many viewpoints. Despite this, I found it almost impossible to put down."

" I got the unabridged audio version, so I may have had a different experience reading the book. Good, interesting story but not great. "
— Mrs., 2/12/2014" This book is a total waste of time, but fun. A mindless action yarn full of every trite sci-fi, horror thriller gimmick. Absolutely nothing new here, but a stupid action story. Best thing about it...Detroit takes the hit, not London, New York or Tokyo! "
— Craig, 2/6/2014" Lower rating than "Infected" maybe just because the shock value and the sheer creativity of the story were exposed in the first. Still, very, VERY worthwhile read. Heck, after the first one, you have to go out and grab this one..... "
— David, 2/4/2014" Good book. But completely grossed me out. I have a very vivid imagination and I nearly hurled at the descriptions of hatchlings etc. "
— Natalia, 1/16/2014" An interesting book, I originally thought it was going to be some sort of zombie outbreak story, instead it's more of a Alien invasion story. It has some interesting, well defined if sometime stereotypical characters but there is some growth here and there. Although the book does have a definte conclusion but there is something that could cause the story to continue. If you're a fan of Scott Sigler you might want to pick it up. "
— Jim, 1/12/2014" I do enjoy Scott Sigler books. Could use a bit less swear words. Makes it hard to listen to at work. "
— Ryan, 1/8/2014" Not as psychologically frightening or gory as the first, but made up for it with a great continuing story with the triangle mythos. The ending was a surprise, but was totally logical and I'm glad Sigler went in the direction that the story had to go. Can't wait for the 3rd one to come out! "
— Curtis, 12/17/2013" This a great ride. A perfect blend of Sci- Fi and medical thriller. Throw in some horror and blood and guts to boot. "
— Michael, 12/12/2013" Amazing sequel. Can't wait for the next one (judging by the ending). "
— Mirrador, 12/7/2013" good book, not as good as Infected, but reads like a movie. "
— Jason, 12/1/2013" What a refreshing read, full of humour. This was one of the few books I couldn't put down. "
— Joe, 11/26/2013" Scott Sigler is the man when it comes to hard hitting Sci-Fi Horror. He also plays a mean bass guitar which just makes me like him even more. Read his stuff or pay the price when his plan for world domination takes hold. "
— Lev, 11/5/2013" A bit more of the same from Infected; still entertaining and fun. "
— gbcjr, 10/22/2013" another great read by sigler follwing in his 'infected' footsteps you wont be dissppointed the charcters are better in this one you cant say enough about his style you will love this book! "
— John, 7/11/2013" Another awesome read, gripping and edge of your seat action. Its longer than the first but also never seems slows or bore! Great definitely becoming a big fan! "
— Claire, 4/15/2013" Just plain awesome. Continues right where the Infected left off. I can't wait for the 3rd book to come out. I can't have an itch without thinking about triangles! "
— Richard, 8/31/2012" Way more explosions than Infected! "
— Codymontg, 6/14/2012" Loved it. Can't wait for Pandemic! "
— Loraine, 5/5/2012" Not as horrific and bloody as Infected, the first book in this series, but an awesome book nonetheless. Sigler really knows how to play on emotions that can cut to the heart of the reader. I cannot wait to read more of his work. "
— Jessica, 3/13/2012" While a bit slower paced than the first novel, it still brings the excitement at the end. I admit I got bored a bit towards the middle and almost gave up but am glad I stuck with it. "
— Nora, 2/20/2012" Another riveting read from Scott Sigler. Imaginative and believable.....when this happens in a story I'm hooked, and this one caught me in a big way!! "
— Bobby, 11/25/2011" Loved the book, and loved the characters. (Scary) Perry was an awesome protagonist, and the hard bitten military Dew was a great foil. Horrifying concepts (although I did recognise a few borrowings), and excellent tension. This guy writes well. "
— Greig, 7/25/2011" This is the fastest I've ever read a book ... "
— Dan, 6/18/2011" Follow up to Infected.
Lots more horrorful scientific silliness which I enjoyed enormously.
Didn't like the end much. "
— James, 5/7/2011" Sigler is a really smooth writer. Finished this in about24 hours! Again, great mix of SF and thriller. "
— Tkane, 5/2/2011" What a refreshing read, full of humour. This was one of the few books I couldn't put down. "
— Joe, 4/26/2011" Loved it, Dew reminded me a lot of my Dad, so it was fun to see him in action! I think I liked this one even more than the first one, very action packed! "
— Jenni, 3/19/2011" Great follow up. This book flows seemlessly despite having so many characters and plots going on. The villian of the book is by far the creepiest I've come across since Pennywise (and all clowns are evil). The ending was heartbreaking and beautiful. I can't wait for next installment. "
— A, 3/12/2011" I thought it was a amazing book! Really good, lives up to its prior novel in the series. The only complaint I have is the ending. Doesn't seem like their is much else to do after it ends but it still sets it up for a sequel. "
— Anthony, 3/8/2011" Likes this quite a bit. I felt like it definitely had more of a climax and crescendo than Infected, and left me wanting to know what happens in Pandemic (if we ever see that one).

Cheers! "
— Cameron, 3/7/2011" I loved this one! I bought it before I got to read "Infected" so I was a little confused before realizing this was a sequel. Can't wait to go out and read the first one, I think I'm developing a soft spot for these gun-toting thrillers. "
— Charlie, 3/5/2011" This book combined with the first one Infected tells a very enthralling and innovative attempted alien invasion story. Much like Scott's newer book Ancestor I found myself not wanting to put this book down when I started reading it. "
— James, 1/29/2011" Loved in Infected but the follow up Contagious just didn't work for me :( "
— Trev, 1/15/2011" Scott Sigler is the rockstar of authors. He weaves science-ficition and horror into a fast paced, creepy, action packed fun ride! Original story that is sure to creep you out and make you cringe. Check out all of his novels and become a junkie. "
