A shrewd investigator and an expert marksman, Special Agent Alexandra LaDuca can handle any case the FBI gives her. Or can she? While on loan from the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Alex is tapped to accompany a Secret Service team during an American Presidential visit to Ukraine. Her assignment: to keep personal watch over Yuri Federov, the most charming and most notorious gangster in the region. Against her better judgment—and fighting a feeling that she’s being manipulated—she leaves for Ukraine. But there are more parts to this dangerous mission than anyone suspects, and connecting the dots takes Alex across three continents and through some life-altering discoveries about herself, her work, her faith, and her future. Conspiracy in Kiev—from the first double-cross to the stunning final pages—is the kind of solid, fast-paced espionage thriller only Noel Hynd can write. For those who have never read Noel Hynd, this first book in The Russian Trilogy is the perfect place to start.

"Very good spy/mystery book. I enjoyed the action very much and especially appreciated the fact that it has no bad language or graphic sex scenes. It is a series and have read the rest. All very good reading."
— Judy (4 out of 5 stars)
" Not an book of intrique on the level of a Ludlom but still enjoyable. "
— Diane, 2/8/2014" i found this book surprising enjoyable despite the somewhat overbearing christian subplots. "
— Reena, 2/7/2014" Ok thriller but nothing exciting "
— Nev, 2/4/2014" Excellent read! Can't wait to read "The Enemy Within." "
— Christina, 2/2/2014" This is not a slick, fast-paced, thriller, spy novel. It moves very slow. It dawdles at points in the story that it really does not need to spend time on. It is like the author took a spy novel and then added a bunch of filler to lengthen the story. I suspect that this trilogy is just one spy novel with a bunch of filler added to make it into three books. If you like really slow moving stories with questionable additions then you will like this book. "
— Scott, 1/31/2014" I kept wondering why the main character spoke of her faith so often in this book. I know of the genre Christian fiction but never have I read a Christian spy novel. I discovered the publisher was Christian based and it explained a lot. Although I do not care for this genre, I enjoyed the story. I might or might not follow up with the next in the series. However, the writing is very good and bad guys are fun to root for. "
— Melinda, 1/17/2014" This is a pretty good read. It is headed under christian fiction. Most of the free downloads are under this heading, but I liked the story. "
— Carol, 1/15/2014" Started but didn't finish. I'll pick it back up again someday. "
— Erin, 12/27/2013" This book keeps you turning the page to see what is going to happen next. "
— Darlene, 11/23/2013" I can't wait to read this again to see what I missed the first time through. Excited to read more. "
— Soccergypsy, 10/18/2013" i debated between three and four stars, but the fact that the last 1/3 really lagged in my mind made it a 3. i have to admit that i held on to see if what i thought was a potential bit of romance went anywhere. i am planning to read the second in the series, so that's something, too. "
— Sharlin, 8/25/2013" I would probably give this a another 1/2 star in that you didn't have to worry about the language or sexual content.(Christian author) It was a fun read but not memorable. A rainy day, ignore what you should be doing book. "
— Shelly, 7/25/2013" I almost bot a kindle 3 book in one deal when I realized I read thos trio years ago! Three stars cause it took me so long to remember them, so i can't say if they were that good. "
— Marge, 4/27/2013" Another Kindle download. It was not the best written book I have ever read, but interesting enough to read before bed. Didn't keep me awake wanting to finish it... "
— Susan, 4/11/2013" Think "Tom Clancy lite"! "
— Teri, 10/30/2012" Story line basically good for its genre but a little too churchy for my tastes. "
— Clint, 9/12/2012" Not a bad story so far. Light, conspiracy read....something to let my mind escape everything else :) "
— Renee, 6/2/2012" This is your basic spy novel but better than most. They provide some histroical background for the setting so the Orange Revolution in Ukraine is discussed, albeit briefly, but at least discussed. "
— Tania, 5/2/2012" a thriller...a good quick read. "
— Sue, 4/8/2012" Started off slow but picked up as the story line developed. Interesting enough that I will continue the series. "
— Paula, 11/23/2011" Read on kindle. Enjoying this series. "
— Celia, 8/4/2011" This book caught my attention from page one! Definitely a page turner. "
— Yvonne, 4/26/2011" Stopped reading about halfway through. could not handle the death and destruction. yuck. "
— Katie, 2/1/2011" I really liked it until the Christian agenda started getting super hyped after the heroine returns from Kiev. "
— Kalyn, 1/24/2011" Excellent read! Can't wait to read "The Enemy Within." "
— Christina, 1/15/2011" Another Kindle download. It was not the best written book I have ever read, but interesting enough to read before bed. Didn't keep me awake wanting to finish it... "
— Susan, 1/15/2011" This was a decent book. I rolled my eyes a couple of times throughout the story, but overall I liked it. Not bad for free. "
— Mandy, 12/15/2010" This book keeps you turning the page to see what is going to happen next. "
— Darlene, 9/20/2010" This is a pretty good read. It is headed under christian fiction. Most of the free downloads are under this heading, but I liked the story. "
— Carol, 4/2/2010" I would probably give this a another 1/2 star in that you didn't have to worry about the language or sexual content.(Christian author) It was a fun read but not memorable. A rainy day, ignore what you should be doing book. "
