"Amber Benson has a beautiful way of writing that makes Calliope a completely relatable character. Her thought process is hilarious, the plot is thrilling and I love the way that heaven/hell/religions are explored as being harmonous. Can't wait for the next three to be delivered!"

" When I read the first book to this series, Death's Daughter, I will admit that I was fairly disappointed. Although the overall concept was decent enough, it never felt to me that the author was really comfortable writing as those characters. Being a fan of Amber Benson, I decided to give Cat's Claw a chance anyways. And I'm glad I did! Ms. Benson seems much more at home with the characters this time around, which leads to a much better flow in the overall story. It felt much more like Calliope's story, rather than Amber Benson telling Calliope's story. I am looking forward to reading the third book - Serpent's Storm! "
— Shanna, 2/19/2014" Not quite as good as the first. The set up is a bit thin for what happens at the end. Also, there is a disturbing trend of using the "not" phrase from Saturday Night Live-- "
— Impossible, 1/30/2014" I didn't enjoy the first book that much, and this one I couldn't get past page 50. The characters aren'y very in depth and there isn't any story line that captures you in. "
— 1110cg, 12/25/2013" I tried but I just couldn't finish it. Maybe I'll try again at another time. But I just couldn't take Callie. What a pain in the ass. "
— Jess, 11/14/2013" the story improves a lot, from scratch to treasures. The Characters developed "
— BlueReader, 10/1/2013" I was so so when I read the first book, so this one was going to be a make or break book for me. Sadly it went the way of break. Calliope just got on my nerves, she was so superficial. This series just isn't for me. "
— Darcy, 9/8/2013" Benson does it again. Though a little over complex in general, Benson takes myth, religion and contemprary style to create a unique, fun romp with a very loveable heroine "
— Becky, 5/1/2013" I met the author at a convention, and she is AWESOME. Her book, sadly, is not quite so awesome as she is, but it's still a fun (if very fluffy) read. The extremely literal dei ex machina made me smile. "
— Alisa, 7/12/2012" Three headed dog, Bast, Jackal brothers, Egypt, and a tour of Targets in Las Vegas. Need I say more? "
— Lady, 11/24/2011" Enjoyable. This one actually made me want to keep reading... "
— Elvia, 8/17/2011" Book would have been much better ( and shorter) without all the bitching about her clothes and shoes getting destroyed. "
— Shannon, 8/6/2011" I couldn't really get much past the second chapter. All the pitfalls of the first book were basically the focus of this one. While in the first they could be glossed over making the second book only highlight them made it not so great in my opinion. "
— Tisha, 7/28/2011" A little more paranormal romance and less urban fantasy than I remember the first book being, but still amusing and enjoyable. That the author is Amber Benson also means I'm willing to cut them a lot of slack and keep reading past where I would with other authors though. "
— Topher, 4/4/2011" Three headed dog, Bast, Jackal brothers, Egypt, and a tour of Targets in Las Vegas. Need I say more? "
— Lady, 1/18/2011" the story improves a lot, from scratch to treasures. The Characters developed "
— Arzai, 10/31/2010" Benson does it again. Though a little over complex in general, Benson takes myth, religion and contemprary style to create a unique, fun romp with a very loveable heroine "
— Becky, 8/19/2010" Being the daughter of death and having obligations to that corporate entity is a very interesting concept. It was an interesting dash of entanglements and resolutions. "
— Marj, 8/3/2010" Not as good as the first one of course but a worthy sequel, I liked that it went into more detail about how Death Inc., works! And it was very witty and charming. "
