Publisher Description

A gripping tale from New York Times bestselling suspense author Terri Blackstock. When the kindest couple in Cape Refuge is found murdered at their church, their daughter will have to find the killer . . . before her own husband is convicted.

Wade and Thelma Owens run a halfway house on the small island of Cape Refuge that caters to wayward souls just out of prison. So when Wade and Thelma turn up brutally murdered, the town goes into shock, concerned that one of the Hanover House residents is a murderer who could strike again.

Shattered by her parents’ deaths, Morgan Cleary struggles to keep Hanover House running while her husband, Jonathan, has been arrested for the murder.

As the killer runs free, a lethal race against time ensues, with far more than the halfway house at stake.

"First in the Cape Refuge series by Christian author Terri Blackstock (who wrote the Restoration series, which I loved!). I bought the first two in a two set offer a while back on Amazon for a nominal price. All set in fictitious Cape Refuge, Georgia, near Tybee Island (which we have visited and loved). This one opens with the murder of a much loved couple on the island, who run the Hanover House, a place of love and refuge for those who have given their life to Christ in prison or in other serious situations and need a place to heal, recuperate, etc. Very good story and great characters. I believe there are 4 books in this series, not sure if I"ll buy the last two or not, but I probably will :)"

" 302 pgs. One of three in the series about Thelma and Wade Owens and their Christian mission work on the island of Cape Refuge. A bit of an overkill, to me, on the Christian theme. It could be woven in, but with less schmalz. A relaxing read, even though evil is stalking the heroes! "

" This is a great series. Good mysteries and real to life characters with real to life situations. They struggle, they have triumphants, they fall, they pick them selves up again "

" It's a very good book. I can't wait to finish the series. There were parts in the book where I was almost in tears and then in the next few pages, laughing. It's a good read. "

" It was a very good book, but the Christian preaching made it difficult to get through. We all have tragedies in our lives and it doesn't matter what religion we follow. I did not find it necessary to interject all of this religion specific preaching into an otherwise great book. "

" A great mystery with well-developed characters. The author keeps you in suspense and wanting to not put the book down. This was my first book by Terri Blackstock and sometimes I am wary of Christian fiction. I started the second book in this series immediately after finishing the first! "

" 302 pgs. One of three in the series about Thelma and Wade Owens and their Christian mission work on the island of Cape Refuge. A bit of an overkill, to me, on the Christian theme. It could be woven in, but with less schmalz. A relaxing read, even though evil is stalking the heroes! "

About Terri Blackstock

Terri Blackstock made a decision more than a decade ago that permanently changed the direction of her writing career. She had grown to become an award-winning secular novelist of over thirty published titles. And yet she was miserable, and her career left her unfulfilled. One night she decided she would never again write something that was displeasing to God. Since then she has written more than thirty novels, many of which were New York Times bestsellers, and was given the Retailers Choice Award in 2007 for best Christian novel in the general fiction category for Night Light. She lives in Mississippi with her husband, Ken.
