Meet three sexy ranchers—who also happen to be vampires—in the first of a new series by the national bestselling author of Wild Instinct.

Allie always desired mysterious, sexy rancher Caleb Johnson, but he never seemed to notice her. Until the night she’s attacked by a vicious animal, and rescued by a shapeshifting vampire that she almost seems to recognize: the baritone growl, the mesmerizing eyes, the inexplicable animal attraction. That’s because her savior is Caleb, and now he has no choice but to bring Allie into the shadows with him—to protect her from a rival werewolf pack, and to finally reveal his true feelings for the woman he’s been afraid to love.

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Fiona | 2/3/2014

" Caleb and Allie are a perfect match. Are they perfect? No, just perfectly suited for each other. The Johnson brother's,not to mention Derek and the rest of the weres bring a lot to the table. Just enough arrogance, paired with deep rooted loyalty for friend and family alike to make you willing to overlook the caveman aspects of their personalities. Can't wait to see more of these males meet their matches at some point. The sparks will fly, I'm thinking. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 M. C. | 1/21/2014

" Really should've gave more weight to the other reviewers. This is a far cry from some of her other books. It loses focus in the middle and doesn't find it again until towards the end. I also had a lot of trouble even following some of the scenes. It read like a scatter-brained person trying to tell a story and not telling it well. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Tami | 1/13/2014

" It was a mixed read - some I enjoyed, but it was not fantastic. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Dima | 12/25/2013

" The book started interesting, and then got boring and repetitive. Will probably read the next one just out of curiosity even thought I already have a pretty good idea of how the story will go. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Lisa O'malley | 12/16/2013

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Cynthia Vandewall | 11/6/2013

" Caleb is right on the edge of good Alpha/bad Alpha behavior. I loved the sass that Allie has and the dialouge between them was a hoot! I laughed out loud in a few places. Can't wait to read Jared's book next. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Val | 8/28/2013

" Defiantly a new twist to the vampire world, but I always love sexy cowboys "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Morgan Syring | 8/15/2013

" I tried, I did...but around Chapter 8 of let me distract her with sex I had to pick up another book to read and just haven't had the desire to pick this back up. For me to not finish a book, or even a mediocre series is a big thing, I'll normally read it just for the sake of reading. "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Lauren | 7/25/2013

" I really didn't like this book at all. I can't finish it. characters are whiney and repetitive... ugh i just can't do it. "

" I really liked the storyline and the characters. The romance was pretty good and steamy. The writing was a little harder to read since they had a thought after every comment. "

" I hate giving poor reviews, but this was really lame. I listened on audio and I think the performance made a lame story even worse. Weak plot, cliche lines, trite dialog and dumb, totally stereotypical characters. Skip it. "
