"I thought that this was a good book. My favorite part of this book was when Nate was skateboarding on a bridge and got caught up on dog leashes and fell. His skateboard went flying into the water and he ate cement. My favorite character is Nate because he is a fun kid who writes funny comics. Even though he is a trouble macker and gets really jelous he is a good character. My least favorite character is probobly Gena because she is a goodie goodie and is the teachers pet. I don't like the people that suck up to the teacher. I have never read a book by this author or this series before so I thought I would try it.It was a good book and I want to read this whole series by the end of this year. Even though this book was full of pictures and not that many words per page but it was a change from reading chapter books."

“Big Nate is funny, big time.”
— Jeff Kinney, author of Diary of a Wimpy Kid“Nate’s an artistic, realistic, funny narrator. On a roll indeed!”
— Kirkus Reviews" This series is all right. I can see why some of my students like it but I don't think it's particularly clever or interesting. It's just your typical story about a middle school boy that tries to get something and has to overcome a bunch of obstacles. I wish it was wittier. "
— Anna, 2/20/2014" i like this book because i like comic books. "
— Mrs., 1/22/2014" This book is about Nate and what happens after he loses his skate board and finds out that Artur becomes a boy scout. There is a fundriaser to get better equipment for camping and at the end there'll prizes for the top raisers. The top raiser get a skate board. He realises he has a chance to raise money and get a skate board at the same time. So he sells comic books and ends up getting the same as Artur, so they fliped a coin and Nate won. I got this book because I thought that the other Big Nate books were okay. I didn't finish this book because it wasn't very interesting. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. "
— Billy, 1/17/2014" The whole series of these books are very interesting to read. The author makes the books not boring. All of these books have a happy ending. "
— 7709mei, 1/12/2014" I read these with my Godson & we really enjoy them! "
— Mandee, 1/12/2014" Big Nate never fails to make me laugh! In this book we see Nate in detention (again). His detention makes him late for a scouting meeting, so while he is zipping along on his skateboard to get there, he is clotheslined by a dog's leash and looses his skateboard in the river. When he finally arrives at the scouting meeting, he hears about their new fundraiser and that the prize for the high seller is a new custom skateboard! Of course Nate wants to win, but of course Arthur is way ahead of him. He tries many things, to humorous effect, to pull ahead of Arthur, and the reader can't help but cheer him on. Don't miss this one! "
— Victoria, 1/12/2014" Even though the comic is quite adorable in certain ways, the book is just mainly about Nate wanting to sell more Warm Fuzzies than Arthur. A little bit of something else please..? "
— Camelia, 1/6/2014" what a funny and witty book! I had a great time reading it to young family members, and they loved it too. "
— Debby, 1/6/2014" I am currently reading this series. It is a really funny book and is really adventurous. I recommend this book to years 10-13. I will update s soon as I have finished reading this book :) "
— Armaan, 12/28/2013" Similar to Diary of a Wimpy Kid, this book tells of his life in school but at a much more positive aspect. "
— Soo, 12/7/2013" i read 1 chapter a day and laughed my head off! "
