"Great adventure story. The characters are very macho and brave and very alpha. The action is non-stop and nerve wracking. And I liked some of the personal parts of the story. I don't want to give away the end, but "way to go"! And Nazis make such good bad guys. "

" Dirk Pitt #15 "
— Denise, 2/11/2014" It was a page-turner of sorts; I did want to find out what happens next. There's constant action. There's also what borders on unbelievable survival by Dirk. What really turns me off are the excessive descriptions of what seemed like every little thing. It's not that he got on a motorcycle, it's that he mounted a 1942 limited edition Indian with this and that. Near the end I started to skim. "
— Fred, 2/8/2014" Awesome if you are into sea stories or Naval stuff. Just not for me. "
— J, 1/30/2014" I always like a good Clive Cussler/Dirk Pitt novel. Some of the later ones started to slide a bit, go in odd directions. This one, while a bit predictable, was on the better side. "
— Kalyn, 1/28/2014" Good for middle school on up looking for more books like Alex Rider/James Bond. Scientific adventure thriller. Don't necessarily need to be read in order. "
— Kelaine, 1/27/2014" Dumb book! Wanted to puke when the author made himself one of the characters! "
— Chip, 1/19/2014" "would make a great action movie." "
— Jess, 1/12/2014" Fun stuff. This was my first Cussler book and is still my favorite. Be prepared to suspend reality just a bit... "
— Leslie, 12/27/2013" Dirk Pitt and his cronies discover Atlantis. Not Cussler's best. "
— Rae, 12/18/2013" Awesome! Cussler writes some fun books and this was one of his best. "
— Joey, 12/14/2013" Very interseting sories, full of action. Like the tie in to an early civilization, feeding the Atlantis theories. "
— doug, 12/9/2013" I haven't read this author before and I really like his style! "
— Christie, 11/30/2013" This was an amazing book! There are so many twists and angles that leave you actually wondering what the Nazi's truly may have been up to and what we will never know. I loved it! "
— Kathleen, 11/25/2013" This has to be one of the most ridiculous books I have ever read. I wish I could get that time back and use it doing something more useful like staring at a wall. "
— Brian, 11/5/2013" Best Dirk Pitt adventure I've read. If I could, I'd give it more than 5 stars. A real page turner. "

— jeffrey, 11/4/2012" Good adventure novels. Great movie adaptation. You read a few of Cussler's books, you get the formula. All in all, worthwhile escapism. "
— Brad, 10/29/2012" Way too long with the typical Dirk Pitt adventures. "
— Anita, 8/30/2012" A fun book that makes you think about the Earth and how it has developed over the last millions of years. "

— Zengfer, 3/19/2011" Buf, conspiraciones, sociedades secretas y unos protagonistas únicos. Todos los libros de Clive Cussler que me he leído son de lo mejor en genero de aventura que e visto. "
— Edy, 3/16/2011" I picked up this book after struggling with a 'Cornwell', and really loved the story from page 1. I do have to say that I love these kind of plots, but some things are a little far fetched, even for me. Still a nice read and a good escape from daily life for me. "
— DutchWaG, 2/21/2011Clive Cussler (1931–2020) was the #1 New York Times bestselling author of more than seventy books in several bestselling series, including Dirk Pitt, NUMA Files, Oregon Files, Isaac Bell, and Sam and Remi Fargo. Whether searching for lost aircraft or leading expeditions to find famous shipwrecks, Cussler and his NUMA crew of volunteers discovered and surveyed more than seventy-five lost ships of historic significance, including the long-lost Confederate submarine Hunley, which was raised in 2000 with much publicity.
