" I found this book as a free read Friday on Nook. This is certainly not a "style" of book I would ever read, not even close. With that being said I love this book, it's full of witches warlocks and elves and black magic. A delightful surprise!! "

" Fun and different. Wasn't sure I'd like a male main character but I really did. Great characters and unique story. Waiting for bk 2. "

" A low three stars. At times I felt like I was reading an inferior copy of Dresden Files. (The whole warden thing? Really?) I never was really pulled into the book at any time either. There was something missing in the whole thing. Maybe a liking of the main character. Could be that. Oh, and that sex scene? Um...LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL I felt like I had fallen through this book and into a tame part of Fifty Shades. Was that supposed to be hot? It was just creepy and awkward. Joe Abercrombie's notoriously painful scenes are almost better. There were some okay parts, and some parts that reminded me of Dresden Files, other than that, this wasn't a great book. "

" A lot like reading "The Dresden Files". I love Dresden. It's not fair comparing the two, but it's hard not too. I'll read subsequent books by Drake because I really like the genre. "

About Jocelynn Drake

Jocelynn Drake constantly has stories rattling around in her brain—dark tales of failure and triumph with a price, tales of love, and tales of monsters that hide in the shadows searching for the light—so with this need to tell stories, she pursued a degree in literature and journalism at Northern Kentucky University. Unfortunately, finding a job writing about the creepy things that filled her brain wasn’t all that easy, so in an effort to keep food in her stomach and a roof over her head, she fell back on her other interest: Wall Street. For more than ten years, Jocelynn was a stock market analyst and financial writer for an investment research firm in Cincinnati, Ohio. While an unexpected combination, it easily fits her personality, giving a nice sense of balance. Now the author of the Dark Days series, she lives in Kentucky.
