Publisher Description

In this explosive account of wrongful acts and ongoing cover-ups, Jesse Ventura takes a systematic look at the wide gap between what the American government knows and what it reveals to the American people. For too long, we the people have sat by and let politicians and bureaucrats from both parties obfuscate and lie. And according to this former Navy SEAL, former pro wrestler, and former Minnesota governor, the media is complicit in these acts of deception. For too long, the mainstream press has refused to consider alternate possibilities and to ask the tough questions. Here, Ventura looks closely at the theories that have been presented over the years and separates the fact from the fiction.

In Ventura's eyes, the murder of Abraham Lincoln and the assassinations of the Kennedys and Martin Luther King all need to be reexamined. Was Watergate presented honestly, or was the CIA involved? Did the Republican Party set out to purposefully steal two elections on behalf of George W. Bush? Has all the evidence been presented about the 9/11 attacks, or is there another angle that the media is afraid to explore? And finally, is the collapse of today's financial order and the bailout plan by the Federal Reserve the widest-reaching conspiracy ever perpetrated?

"Great book for people who already think the Government is corrupt. I loved every chapter of this, it's very detailed and explains stuff the news would never put out for us. Jesse Ventura was wonderful for writing this book and letting us know about real things going on in the world. "

" This book was okay until the end, when Jesse pontificated for around 100 pages. No surprises though...if you are a conspiracy theorist, you've heard all of the arguments contained in this book before. "

" He is very courageous, outspoken, and has done some investigation into the many infamous alleged conspiracies, but the work is far from sufficient to bring any case near a conclusion or even a clear direction of more investigation. One typically suspects already before reading this book and suspects more after, that's all. Additionally, the writing style is quite plain and monotonous. "

" Some of it seems crazy, and some of it probably is, but it also raises some interesting points about why the government gets to dictate what we know, even though "we the people" are supposed to be the government. At the very least, it makes you think. "

" Another book on tape for a long road trip; I expected little and was not disappointed. I give the governor credit for finding 'documentation' for his views, and while he creates room for doubting, he didn't convince me that 'the government' is responsible for everything he claims it is responsible for.
