Publisher Description

It has been over twenty years since the publication of The Ragamuffin Gospel, a book many claim as the shattering of God's grace into their lives. Since that time, Brennan Manning has been dazzingly faithful in preaching and writing variations on that singular theme, "Yes, Abba is very fond of you!" But today the crowds are gone and the lights are dim, the patches on his knees have faded. If he ever was a ragamuffin, truly it is now. In this his final book, Brennan roves back his past, honoring the lives of the people closest to him, family and friends who've known the saint and the sinner, the boy and the man. Far from some chronological timeline, these memories are witness to the truth of life by one who has lived it.

"This book was shocking, convicting, disturbing and thought-provoking. It brought me to my knees. I respect Brennan for his complete vulnerability and transparency and it is my goal as an author, speaker and servant of God to be genuine in every respect of the word, but to mostly realize it is God's grace that enables me to do anything I can do."

Quotes

  • “Brennan’s memoir is at once unvarnished and confessional, grippingly honest and poignantly tender. An unguarded peek into a life marked by foibles and blessings, gifts and pain, joy and regret. But always, in every paragraph, grace. Brennan has lived it, experienced it, and grasps the extraordinary power of God’s great gift.”

    — Max Lucado, New York Times bestselling author of Fearless and Outlive Your Life
  • “Manning’s dispassionate voice evokes trust…At points the narration feels tired and obligatory, as if he simply doesn’t want to talk anymore. Conversely, that is the book’s appeal. There’s no cutting corners, no spinmeistering. If the book could be defined as a psalm, it would read, ‘How pleasant it is when fellow travelers of faith can read another’s story and hear the ring of truth and, conquering that, still believe.’”

    — Publishers Weekly (starred review)
  • “Maurice England narrates with clear delivery and a wry tone. His voice is deep and powerful, smoothly shifting from the whimsical to the intimate and engaging the listener.”

    — Publishers Weekly (audio review)
  • “In honest and sincere tones, Maurice England narrates the equally honest and sincere memoir of Father Brennan Manning…In England’s gravelly voice, one hears something of Manning’s age, his wisdom, and, at times, even his regrets…England’s easygoing voice brings a sense of authenticity to this first-person account of Manning’s life.”

    — AudioFile
  • “While it may very well be Brennan Manning’s parting word to us, All Is Grace is no deathbed confession. In these soul-stirring pages, Brennan testifies once again of a stubborn, messy grace that does not cleanse us as much as it stains us and marks us forever as one precious to the Most High God…All Is Grace is the book for all who stumble.”

    — Karen Spears Zacharias, author of Will Jesus Buy Me a Double-Wide?

" This book is so honest it is painful to read. I guess that is the whole point about grace; we do not deserve it. I find myself wishing I could see him now in Abbas arms just to have that final assurance that yes; he did make it. That God truly does love Ragamuffins. Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me... "

About Maurice England

Maurice England moved to the Chicago area in the fall of 2006, after a twelve year run as a long-haul trucker, to continue the cultivation of his lifelong interest in the expressive arts and oral interpretation. A veteran audiophile, Maurice listened to well over one thousand audiobooks while on the road and fell in love with the genre. From his past experience in broadcasting, community theater, music performance, and ministry he saw narrating as a means to merge his love for books, ideas, learning, and spiritual evolution with his interest in artistic expression. While his narration experience has primarily been nonfiction, personal development, and spiritual-growth titles, Maurice anticipates using his authentically warm and folksy southern style to entertain and inspire through storytelling. Inspired most by the behind-the-scenes artists who engineer, direct, edit, and master the audiobook productions we hear, Maurice has become an absorbed student and participant in the process.
