It has been over twenty years since the publication of The Ragamuffin Gospel, a book many claim as the shattering of God's grace into their lives. Since that time, Brennan Manning has been dazzingly faithful in preaching and writing variations on that singular theme, Yes, Abba is very fond of you!

But today the crowds are gone and the lights are dim, the patches on his knees have faded. If he ever was a ragamuffin, truly it is now. In this his final book, Brennan roves back his past, honoring the lives of the people closest to him, family and friends who've known the saint and the sinner, the boy and the man. Far from some chronological timeline, these memories are witness to the truth of life by one who has lived it.

" This book is so honest it is painful to read. I guess that is the whole point about grace; we do not deserve it. I find myself wishing I could see him now in Abbas arms just to have that final assurance that yes; he did make it. That God truly does love Ragamuffins. Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me... "

" A very honest, revealing biography about a man who struggled with alcoholism yet encouraged so many into a deeper walk with God - myself included. "

" This book was shocking, convicting, disturbing and thought-provoking. It brought me to my knees. I respect Brennan for his complete vulnerability and transparency and it is my goal as an author, speaker and servant of God to be genuine in every respect of the word, but to mostly realize it is God's grace that enables me to do anything I can do. "

" A great book! I became a christian through the teaching of this man and so feel forever grateful to him. I was saddened to hear of his ongoing struggle with alcohol, and at the same time again grateful for his honesty and deep love for Jesus. "

About the Author
Author Brennan Manning

Brennan Manning is often on the road, speaking of God’s unconditional love at church retreats and conferences. A popular author, his books include The Signature of Jesus and Abba’s Child. Brennan and his wife, Roslyn, make their home in New Orleans.

About the Narrator

Maurice England moved to the Chicago area in the fall of 2006, after a twelve year run as a long-haul trucker, to continue the cultivation of his lifelong interest in the expressive arts and oral interpretation. A veteran audiophile, Maurice listened to well over one thousand audiobooks while on the road and fell in love with the genre. From his past experience in broadcasting, community theater, music performance, and ministry he saw narrating as a means to merge his love for books, ideas, learning, and spiritual evolution with his interest in artistic expression. While his narration experience has primarily been nonfiction, personal development, and spiritual-growth titles, Maurice anticipates using his authentically warm and folksy southern style to entertain and inspire through storytelling. Inspired most by the behind-the-scenes artists who engineer, direct, edit, and master the audiobook productions we hear, Maurice has become an absorbed student and participant in the process.
