"Karen White is one of my most favorite authors. This book, After the Rain, is a sequel to Falling Home. Each one of these books is a stand alone novel...both of them well written and wonderful stories, but they are so much better as a pair. In this sequel, the reader gets to go back to the small town of Walton, Georgia to revisit the characters that were introduced in the first book. I can't really say much about the story line...it will ruin the plot of the first book if it hasn't been read. What I can say is, well done, Karen White. I highly recommend After the Rain as well as the prequel."

“This is a book to enjoy. It glorifies the joys of small town living and appreciates the values of a time fast fading.”
— Huffington Post“A touching story of finding love and family where you least expect it, After the Rain is an emotionally satisfying tale of ordinary people and extraordinary romance. Character-driven and strongly written, Karen White’s second novel marks her as a rising star and an author to watch for.”
— RT Book Reviews (4 stars)“This charming romance brims with appealing characters and captivating phrasing.”
— Kirkus Reviews" I'm a huge fan of Karen White! I didn't realize that we would be returning to Walton, Georgia and since I loved the cast in Falling Home, I was thrilled to find them 3 years later. Looking forward to reading more! "
— Karen, 2/10/2014" I read the updated version of this book. This author has added perspectives of other characters to the story. "
— Jennifer, 2/5/2014" This sequel to Falling Home focuses on Joe and family as they struggle to adjust to life without a wife and mother. A stranger with a secret comes to town and changes their lives and hers. Somewhat predictable but still engaging. "
— Kathy, 2/1/2014" It was my first Karen White. The story, setting and characters are impressive. Though I din't like the explanation she gives for Suzanne Paris's constant running. I think Anthony withdrew too easily and early which makes him less impressive as evil entity. Except this the town of Walton and its residents makes for the dream town. Pairing of Joe Warner and Suzanne Paris is also good. Loved the saying "A life without rain is like the sun without shade." "
— Pratikhya, 1/29/2014" I can not get enough of Karen White's novels and this one did not let me down. Her stories and characters draw me in and I can not put them down till they are over. My only complaint is that I know am forced to wait for her next novel! "
— Malorie, 1/18/2014" I rate all of Karen Whites book with 5 stars; they are hard to put down. "
— Terri, 1/16/2014" I loved this book. I kept putting it down so that I could enjoy the story longer. "
— Carissa, 1/6/2014" I haven't read a book yet by Ms. White that I didn't love. This one was a little more lighthearted, but no less enjoyable than her others. I highly recommend checking out this author. "
— Deb, 12/18/2013" I really didn't much care for my first visit to Walton in falling home. But this one was much better. Got a bit slow 3/4ths the was in but in all was good. I am a really big fan of Karen White's later books esp The Beach Trees. I can almost see that quality in this book. "
— Virginia, 11/30/2013" I love all Karen White books. While I liked it and found it to be a quick read, it was not my usual 5 star expectations. The characters In the book were interesting, but the main character was a little difficult to understand. "
— Kay, 11/7/2013" Did not like. I finally skipped to the last few chapters just to find out Suzanne's (boring) secret. Just went on and on. "
— Curvy, 10/15/2013" This is the second book I have read by Karen White. I love how she draws you in. "
— Jessie, 8/16/2013" Decent read but predictable and too heavy a romance storyline..neither which are favorites nor what I was expecting. "
— Yasmin, 7/16/2013" Overall a good read but a little slow at first, it seemed to take me a while to get interested although I had recent read falling home. Enjoyed the book a little more as I got into it further. "
— Beth, 6/25/2013" Suzanne finds herself in Walton, Georgia while hiding from an abusive ex-fiance. She thinks that her mother may have had ties to this town. The book is a sequel to Falling Home, but it's another story with a new character added to the old ones. Another quick read. Good story. "
— Kristy, 6/20/2013" If you're looking for an easy to read, modern romance, this is a good one for you. I personally tire of the same story line. Girl meets boy, girl snubs boy, boy perseveres, the end. "

— Deborah, 4/19/2013" Going to look for more from this Author, really enjoyed. "

— Debbie, 3/26/2013" I found this at the library. It was not awful, but was kind of a silly romance. Thought it was going to have a bit more mystery to it. "
