About the Authors

Amber Quick is an audiobook narrator who specializes in faith-based fiction. She is best known for her readings of several books in the Year of Weddings Series.

Denise Hunter is the internationally published bestselling author of more than twenty books, including Dancing with Fireflies and The Convenient Groom. She has won the Holt Medallion Award, the Reader’s Choice Award, the Foreword Book of the Year Award, and is a RITA finalist. When Denise isn’t orchestrating love lives on the written page, she enjoys traveling with her family, drinking green tea, and playing drums. Denise makes her home in Indiana where she and her husband are raising three boys.

Deborah Raney’s first novel, A Vow to Cherish, inspired a World Wide Pictures film and launched Deb’s writing career. More than twenty-five years later, she’s still creating award-winning stories that touch hearts and lives. She and her husband, Ken Raney, are recent Missouri transplants from their native Kansas and enjoy spending time with their kids and grandkids.

Betsy St. Amant lives in Louisiana and is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers. She has a BA in Christian communications and regularly freelances for her local newspaper. Her novels include A Valentine’s Wish, Rodeo Sweetheart, and Return to Love.

Rachel Hauck, a Rita Award finalist and Carol Award winner, graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in journalism. She has written dozens of novels, including the acclaimed Songbird novels with multiplatinum country singer Sara Evans, and serves on the Executive Board for American Christian Fiction Writers. She lives in central Florida with her husband and writes from her ivory tower. (Her office really is in a tower, and it’s painted ivory.)

Lenora Worth is the award-winning author of more than fifty books. Prior to becoming a full-time novelist, she wrote a weekly opinion column for the local newspaper and did freelance work for a local magazine.

Meg Moseley is a Californian at heart although she’s lived more than half her life in other states. She formerly wrote human-interest columns for a suburban section of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and home schooled for more than twenty years. Meg enjoys reading books, traveling, gardening, her three grown children, and motorcycle rides with her husband Jon. They make their home in northern Georgia.

Marybeth Mayhew Whalen is the author of The Mailbox, She Makes It Look Easy, The Guest Book, and The Wishing Tree. She is the director of She Reads, an online book club focused on spotlighting the best in women’s fiction. Whalen lives with her family in North Carolina.

Beth Wiseman, author of the Daughters of the Promise series and the Land of Canaan series, is hailed as a top voice in Amish fiction. She and her family live in Texas.

Debra Clopton is a bestselling author and has sold over 2.5 million books. A sixth generation Texan, Debra lives on a ranch in central Texas with her husband, Chuck. She loves to travel and spend time with her family, and she loves helping people smile with her fun, fast-paced stories.

Kathryn Springer is a full-time writer and the award-winning author of Front Porch Princess. She won the ACFW 2009 Book of the Year award for Family Treasures. Her most recent book, The Soldier’s Newfound Family, hit the New York Times bestseller list in November 2012. Kathryn grew up in northern Wisconsin, where her parents published a weekly newspaper. As a child she spent many hours sitting at her mother’s typewriter, plunking out stories, and credits her parents for instilling in her a love of books—which eventually turned into a desire to tell stories of her own. Kathryn has written nineteen books with close to two million copies sold. She lives with her husband and three children in Marinette, Wisconsin.

Katie Ganshert is a Christy Award finalist and the author of Wildflowers from Winter and Wishing on Willows. When she’s not busy writing, playing, reading, or snuggling, she is obsessing over paperwork and the waiting that comes with adoption, which she and her husband hope to complete sometime before they are fifty. She lives in Iowa with her handsome husband, their dinosaur-loving son, and their goofy black lab, Bubba.

Beth K. Vogt believes God’s best is often behind the doors marked “Never.” She’s the wife of a former Air Force family physician who said she’d never marry a doctor—or anyone in the military. She’s a mom of four who said she’d never have kids. She’s a former nonfiction writer and editor who said she’d never write fiction. Her novels include Wish You Were Here, Catch a Falling Star, and Somebody like You.

Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875) was born in Odense, Denmark, the son of a poor shoemaker and a washerwoman. As a young teenager, he became quite well known in Odense as a reciter of drama and as a singer. When he was fourteen, he set off for the capital, Copenhagen, determined to become a national success on the stage. He failed miserably, but made some influential friends in the capital who got him into school to remedy his lack of proper education. In 1829 his first book was published. After that, books came out at regular intervals. His stories began to be translated into English as early as 1846. Since then, numerous editions, and more recently Hollywood songs and Disney cartoons, have helped to ensure the continuing popularity of the stories in the English-speaking world.
