" This is #6 in the books on which the movie "How to Train Your Dragon" was loosely based. I loved the movie...not so much the book. This is the only one I've read but the excessive descriptive mentions of the character "Big-Boobied Bertha" turned me off. I can't say how many times Cowell talks about her excessively large bosum and its accomplishments but it was "a lot" too many. In the dragonese section in the back "piss-person" is used frequently...also a turn-off. I don't think my boys will be reading any more of these. While I don't know for sure, my guess is Cressida Cowell is British. They may consider us prudes but I consider her way too loose in what she thinks is appropriate for young children. "

" This book is about how not to spend your birthday....and other crazy things. It is also kind of funny.but violent in one part. After the violance there was a really good part it was so good i could not put that book down.also I like how this book has a guide of dragons in the back.In the very back they have a dictanary of dragoniese. "

" This book had more of a straight forward message than the others we've read in this series - books are wonderful and valuable and not to be kept locked up by the Hairy Scary Librarian! I really enjoyed it! "

" I felt this was the weakest of the books so far. I still enjoyed it, but it all went by too quickly and just sort of felt more like a filler. "

" although another fun read it was too short. All of the pages at the back of the book were taken up with a dragon guide and dragonese dictionary. Though fun in temselves I would have prefered the last 50 pages to have been filled with story. "

" I like the personlality of Hiccup. He does not want to be a leader or anything. He's small and weak, but when one of his buddies is in danger, he would help his buddy even if the journey/adventure can take his life. "

" Great book, however, it didnt quite follow the same pattern as the others. This quest is just as fun as the others, but its not as crucial and life saving as the others. The fate of the Hooligan tribe doesnt rest in the balance here. but it was still great. "
