"This was the second of Gregg Olsen's fiction books I read and he has really captured me. Like any book there are a few flaws... seemed to have a lot of stories and a lot of characters that some times seems to carry on to the point of getting lost but all and all very good"
— Susan (4 out of 5 stars)
" I enjoyed the sequel Heart of Ice but was disappointed when I went back to read this one. "
— Jenna, 1/23/2014" I don't think it's right to review books written by friends (cover blurbs aren't the same) but I'll say that Gregg wove an intriguing story here, and I didn't expect the story to go the way it did, which is a good thing. "
— Steve, 1/21/2014" It started off ok, but got more and more silly and unrealistic. I din't even finish the last 20 pages. "
— Diane, 1/10/2014" While the story was intriguing for the most part, toward the end it got real bland and predictable. Plus I am not a fan of Gregg Olsen's writing style. It's very simplistic and without any real desire. I am just not satisfied at all with this. Especially how it ended. Emily really thinks unplugging a computer makes the people on it go away? haha WTF? The word I have to describe these characters is UNNATURAL! Grade: D+ "
— Jeremy, 1/7/2014" The second novel that I've read by Gregg Olsen. Just as good as Victim Six! And for once, a writer who knows how to use flashbacks! "
— Chris, 12/30/2013" I've fast become a fan of Gregg Olsen. This is now my 3rd novel that I have read of his and while it's not his best work it's still solid. I would have given this a 4 star had I not been able to figure out the major twist of the book about 1/2 way through. "
— Gina, 12/12/2013" This was a pretty quick read. Even though I found it quite predictable and there were a few unnecessary storylines, I still enjoyed the book. I would definitely read another book by this author. "
— saintsfan33, 9/29/2013" A serial killer mystery/thriller that held my interest until the end. Lots of tension, good characterization, and plotting. This was first book by this author I had read, will not be the last. A good read. "
— Steve, 8/12/2013" I picked this up at the library book sale and it was okay. Nothing amazing or kept me on the edge of my seat. Wanted to like it more. "
— Janene, 6/29/2013" It's just okay. I liked that the lead character was less than perfect and questioned her decisions and actions. As a thriller story, though, the ending seemed disconnected and anticlimatic. A page turner, passes the time, but if you like this type of story, there are many others that could be read. "
— Julie, 5/4/2013" I had no idead that Gregg Olsen wrote fiction as well as non-fiction. His true crime novels have always intrigued me, but his fiction is awesome! One of a few kidnapping books that I enjoyed. "
— Jenn, 5/18/2012" A twisted, compelling thriller with several twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end. Although this is not the best thriller type novel that I have read, it is a very good book with a well developed plot that makes this book hard to put down. "
— Quinn, 5/3/2012" Mr. Olsen always keep me guessing until the end. Another great thriller! "
— cassie, 10/24/2011" While I liked the book and the story line, at times, I found one of the main characters annoying. Also, felt it drug in places, but overall was a good read - will read others of this author "
— Janeene, 10/10/2011" Enjoyed "Wicked Snow" so much, I thought I'd try another Gregg Olsen book. This mystery had some good moments; but it seemed a little less put together. Gonna try one more by Olsen. "
— Charlene, 1/28/2011" A page turner - got this book in Maui when I ran out of books to read. Not the type of novel I usually buy but I really liked the plot twists. I liked Emily - the main character and her daughter, Jenna. Good crime, mystery thriller. "
— Gretchen, 9/27/2010" I only put this book down to close my eyes when the toothpicks refused to hold them open any further. For me, it was that good. I loved it. "
— justablondemoment, 9/26/2010" I've fast become a fan of Gregg Olsen. This is now my 3rd novel that I have read of his and while it's not his best work it's still solid. I would have given this a 4 star had I not been able to figure out the major twist of the book about 1/2 way through. "
— Gina, 5/18/2010" Mr. Olsen always keep me guessing until the end. Another great thriller! "
— cassie, 2/13/2010" another great book by this man, his being an ex cop really shows through. "
— Artdalinkwent, 6/29/2009" A twisted, compelling thriller with several twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end. Although this is not the best thriller type novel that I have read, it is a very good book with a well developed plot that makes this book hard to put down. "
— Quinn, 5/1/2009" A little slow at first but once I got into it, it ended up being really good. <br/>I was shocked of the outcome though. "
— ~sherry~, 10/10/2008" While I liked the book and the story line, at times, I found one of the main characters annoying. Also, felt it drug in places, but overall was a good read - will read others of this author "
— Janeene, 8/19/2008" Great "thriller"; serial killer vs. female investigator theme. I will be reading the sequels. "
