Shaggy exploded onto the music scene in 1993 with his debut album Pure Pleasure. He released his sophomore album, Boombastic (1995), which was certified platinum and won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album. In 2000 he released his fourth album, Hot Shot, which went Diamond worldwide and Platinum six times in the United States. Notable singles from that album included “It Wasn’t Me” and “Angel.” “It Wasn’t Me” received a Grammy nomination. In 2008 he developed the Shaggy Foundation, which has helped raise more than $85 million for the Bustamante hospital in Jamaica. In September 2013, Sly & Robbie Presents Shaggy was released as a collaboration album entitled “Out of Many, One Music.” The album has already received tremendous feedback from industry tastemakers. |
