"Even though you know the outcome of this story it was an absolute pleasure of a listen. The ups and downs of the season chronicled by two die-hard fans - you could feel their agony and excitement. An interesting side note - they had originally planned to do this for the 2003 season however due to Stephen Kings accident they postponed it and ended up with a true gem of a story."

— Ziggy (5 out of 5 stars)

    — Boston Globe

" I'm a baseball fan. I'm a Red Sox fan. I liked this book - it was fun to reminisce about "where I was when..." and, being a relatively new Sox fan, learn some history about the team. That said...if you are NOT a Sox fan (or a baseball fan, or a sports fan in general), you probably won't get much out of this book. It's written in a tandem diary style, full of play-by-plays and analysis(I especially enjoyed Stephen King's more poetic ramblings), equal parts upbeat and downtrodden. But there's no love story to go along with it (save that of some fans and their ballclub), no suspense about the outcome. So if following along as two guys live and breathe baseball for a year isn't your thing, you should look elsewhere. "

" This was a fun read; very enjoyable to relive the magical 2004 Red Sox season. I sure was jealous of how many games the authors were able to attend -- it seemed so easy for them to get tickets! Granted, one of them is Stephen King -- I'm sure fame helps. It was amusing to find out just how hard-core a Sox fan King is, and especially how much he loathes the Yankees. Anyway, good writing, quite entertaining. I'm glad to have finally read this one, and would give it 3.5 stars if that were possible. "
