“The Sith always betray one another. . . . I’m sure you’ll learn that soon enough.”
The overthrow of the Republic is complete. The Separatist forces have been smashed, the Jedi Council nearly decimated, and the rest of the Order all but destroyed. Now absolute power rests in the iron fist of Darth Sidious–the cunning Sith Lord better known as the former Senator, now Emperor, Palpatine. But more remains to be done. Pockets of resistance in the galaxy must still be defeated and missing Jedi accounted for . . . and dealt with. These crucial tasks fall to the Emperor’s ruthless enforcer, Darth Vader. In turn, the Dark Lord has groomed a lethal apprentice entrusted with a top-secret mission: to comb the galaxy and dispatch the last of his masters’ enemies, thereby punctuating the dark side’s victory with the Jedi’s doom.
Since childhood, Vader’s nameless agent has known only the cold, mercenary creed of the Sith. But his future beckons with the ultimate promise: to stand beside the only father he has ever known, with the galaxy at their feet. It is a destiny he can realize only by rising to the greatest challenge of his discipleship: destroying Emperor Palpatine.
The apprentice’s journeys will take him across the far reaches of the galaxy. And he will be tested as never before–by shattering revelations that strike at the very heart of all he believes and stir within him long-forgotten hopes of reclaiming his name . . . and changing his destiny.

"This book is the reason I was disapointed at the video game. The story is so great that I epect the video game to do a better job. But enough about the game. The book (as I've said) has a great story but there are moments of high action that you might find yourself skiming over. I know it's based on a video game but some of the action (namely on Raxus prime) seemed to much. Also I HATE the ideo of someone being this strong in the force, Anakin is "the choosen one" so shouldn't he be more powerful in thf force? I mean, he wasn't able to do this when he was Starkillers age so how can starkiller? But if your a star wars fan then you wont be disappointed by the story."

" It didn't take me long to beat the game, so I thought I'd read the book for a little more back-story. It didn't really offer anymore insite into the charactors. Kinda dissapointing, but I love Star Wars, so I went along with it. The movie-adaption books and prequels are better. "
— Katie, 2/1/2014" This book is cool unless you all ready beat the video game than its just cool drawings.. "
— Joseph, 1/22/2014" My mistake with this book was reading it after I had played the video game of the same name. The book too closely followed the game and rarely took any time to venture deeper or further into Galen Marek's story. It did however reveal a bit more about Juno Eclipse, and for that, I appreciate it. But this was nothing special, and not worth reading if you have played the video game to its completion. "
— William, 1/17/2014" You can definitely tell it was a video game. I haven't played the game, but the story was a nice prelude to A New Hope as it's about the formation of the Rebel Alliance. Some parts, such as the romance, as well as the description of the Force are kinda corny, but it was still engaging. "
— Aqil, 1/16/2014" I'm reading this with my child and while a book from a video game that's a spin-off of a blockbuster movie wouldn't be my usual pick, it's pretty good. I'd recommend it to die-hard Star Wars fans, who would probably find it a worthwhile addition to the Star Wars canon. "
— Kate, 1/16/2014" About as good as a book based on a video game could be. Then again, I am a Star Wars dork. "
— Dale, 1/6/2014" I liked this book alot. It is really detailed and has a good story line. The only parts that I don't like is the boring parts with almost no action but, there is barely any of them. I hope that anyone who likes Star Wars, reads this book. "
— Liam, 12/8/2013" The storyline in the video game was better. Who'd have thunk it? This book was just not that interesting to me. Still, it was a good story in and of itself. "
— Alex, 5/29/2013" This book was extremely good. It took the original story from the videogame and really beefed it up. "
— Kayla, 9/13/2012" All the annoying tropes of novels in the Star Wars universe, with the added bonus of a plot adapted from an only-okay video game story. I only read it because the little on really badly wanted a copy in the house, I'd given up on the video game sometime back, and it was a fabulously quick read. "
— Bryan, 9/3/2012" The main character is very interesting, but the action scenes are pretty dull. "
