"Could not put this one down. Wow. The story took off and never let up on the action. Very fun and I am a fan of this author! His characters make good choices. Even some of the bad guys are likeable - the three notched ear guy (Coradin?)- because they have good in them. Enjoy."

" Last in the 100 Cupboards series. Terrible. Destroyed the series. How an author can get this off track from an original and amazing concept is beyond me. Too bad. "
— Jennifer, 2/15/2014" Awesome conclusion. Loved the ending! "
— Miranda, 2/12/2014" If over half of a book's characters need to be stashed away in various places (including a cupboard carried around in the protagonist's backpack) so that the plot can advance, then maybe those characters don't need to be in the book in the first place. "
— Carissa, 2/12/2014" A fantastic conclusion to a fantastic trilogy. I absolutely loved it. N.D. Wilson had better write some more books, fast! :-D "
— The, 2/8/2014" loved it! excellent end to an excellent trilogy. "
— Kendra, 2/2/2014" I am sad to see this series end. N.D. Wilson wrapped it up very well...all things considered for a kids book :) "
— Vicki, 2/2/2014" In the first two books, I had to grapple with getting my head around the mythological structure and nuances of the Cupboard worlds. In this volume, I could just strap in with the author and take a wild ride. A series well worth a read and reread. "
— Tom, 1/18/2014" Second read. Now how am I supposed to kill my dandelions? "
— Gregory, 1/17/2014" This is one of the rare times when the sequels are just as good, even better, than the first. Just like the Harry Potter series. "
— Anna, 11/18/2013" The Rest Of The Series Has Been Good, So I Hope This Book Will As Good As The Rest. "
— Luke, 9/1/2013" But sphere prisons containing the lives of a thousand incubi are by far the best. "
— Josiah, 7/28/2013" i liked this series, though i think Wilson's creative inspiration clearly comes from Rowling. The protagonist, Henry, seems modeled after Harry Potter. And i found the story complicated at times. Nonetheless the overall adventure pulled me through. "
— Susan, 6/11/2013" I listened to the audiobook of this one as well. Still like the story ... but got lost a couple of times. It seemed to jump around without enough explanation as to why or where. Don't know if that was in the story or because maybe my mind wandered while listening. "
— Angie, 3/10/2013" This was definitly the best of the three books. The villians were most ominous in this final book, and I was sad to see the series ended. "
— Jael, 3/4/2013" Fun book to read. This was the best one of the 3 in the series. "
— Dan, 9/8/2012" Best book of the trilogy, This time the author really sinks into the charachters and dimension bringing about horrors of the physical and emotional world. "
— Nancy, 5/10/2012" Good ending to the series. "
— Shailey, 3/28/2012" Great! This is my favorite series and all 3 books were equally wonderful. "
— Betsey, 3/28/2012" The best of the three! They just got better and better! "
— Hr, 2/26/2012" The end was a little too... too for me, but I loved it. Te suspense was so intense, I had to take breaks from it. I'm such a scaredy-cat. This is the best book series I ever read that I know I'd be way too chicken to ever see if they made a movie. "
— Hari, 12/18/2011" The Chestnut King was hard to put down especially toward the end. Great job N.D. What other grand stories are floating around in that head of yours? I hope you share them. "
— Shawn, 9/6/2011" It was pretty good. It took me forever to get through this series, which goes to show that they we not the best ever. But I was interested enough to finish the series. I am still a little confused though, but was happy with the ending. "
— Heather, 8/21/2011" Loved it. Broke down a few times near the end. Really good for those that need more story in their thinking. "
— Sean, 8/9/2011" A great end to a great trilogy. Reminiscent of Narnia, Chrestomanci books, Harry Potter, etc., by a talented writer. And super exciting! "
— Watoosa, 7/1/2011" It's rare for me not to finish a book - but for this one, I didn't! Found it confusing and in the end too hard to wade through. "
— Esther, 5/13/2011" What an exciting ending for the great series! The twists and turns made it very enjoyable. Loved it!!! "
— Valerie, 3/12/2011" Good finish. Loved the series. "
— Nico, 3/9/2011" Excellent. Wilson is genuinely creative. A little bit of the dialogue seems forced, perhaps, but the story is compelling enough to keep me up way too late in search of a stopping point. Wyrd in all the right ways. "
— Gil, 3/5/2011" The Wizard of Oz of its time. "
— LJh*, 2/5/2011" Definitely the best in the series. The others are probably only 3 1/2 stars. "
— Pam, 1/14/2011" As with Dandelion King, I wished less time had elapsed between my reading of the previous book in the series, so I would make all the connections, but...oh well.

It was fantastic, the plot rich and woven like Mordecai's vines. "
— Matthew, 12/24/2010" These series are pretty good. The first one us a little slow but the next two definately pick up the pace. And I'm really glad to say I'm from Kansas where not much happens except for adventures like these! ;) "
— Aegine, 12/23/2010" Wonderful book series. Explores and exploits many of my favorite themes in faerie tales. For a more expansive review, see my review of the first book of the trilogy. "
— Tim, 12/5/2010" This is one of the rare times when the sequels are just as good, even better, than the first. Just like the Harry Potter series. "
