Robin G. Mercier’s fascination with crime began as a child playing pinball on confiscated illegal gaming devices provided by his policeman uncle. His time on Chicago’s south side gave him a glimpse into crime with a small “c,” and later friendships with the children of reputed mobsters gave him a glimpse of crime with a capital “C,” but it wasn’t until his one-on-one meeting with Mayor Richard J. Daly in 1975 that he learned the real meaning of “Big City Boss.” He now enjoys stripping off the garb of civilization, unzipping the skin of psychopaths, criminals, and societal misfits of all types, and then stepping inside to peer out at the world through this different and fascinating perspective. |
