Michael Marshall was born in England in 1965. He spent his childhood in the United States, South Africa, and Australia before returning to the UK. He attended Chigwell School in Essex and then went to King’s College, Cambridge, where he read philosophy and social and political science. He worked for a number of years as a graphic designer and writer of corporate videos, while starting to write fiction. His first novel, The Straw Men, was an international bestseller, as were The Lonely Dead (titled The Upright Man in the US) and Blood of Angels. His Steel Dagger–nominated novel The Intruders is currently in development for a series with the BBC. Marshall has also worked for many years as a screenwriter for clients in London and Hollywood. He lives in London with his wife Paula, a son, and two cats. Paula and Michael recently opened Lemon Balm, a complementary therapies clinic and natural health and beauty store in London. |
