Mary Spio, a former satellite engineer, has gone from launching satellites into space to launching her own magazine, One2One Living, a guide for Gen-X singles. Spio is the founder of Next Galaxy Corporation and co-founder of Vidaroo Corp. (formerly Gen2Media Corp). Her technology can be seen applied globally in digital theaters in movies such as Ocean’s 11, Planet of the Apes, Spy Kids, Monster’s Inc. and Bounce, which were all delivered digitally via the same technology. She and her team at Boeing worked with LucasFilms to be the first to digitally distribute a major motion picture, Star Wars Attack of the Clones, globally to theatres. She had four patents issued in her name and held by the Boeing corporation for the development of digital cinema. She holds a Master’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Syracuse University. |
