Clinton Ober started as a cable television salesman in Billings, Montana, and rose to become a leader in the industry. In the early 1970s he formed Telecrafter Corporation and built it into the largest provider of cable marketing and installation services in the United States. In the 1980s he partnered with McGraw-Hill to acquire live-feed distribution rights for computer use from news services around the world.
