Publisher Description

Welcome to New York City's Upper East Side, where my friends and I all live in huge, fabulous apartments and go to exclusive single-sex private schools. We aren't always the nicest people in the world, but we make up for it in looks and taste.

Enter the world of Gossip Girl, a world inhabited by the city's most fabulous crowd; a world of jealousy, betrayal, and outrageous behavior.

It's time to fill out our college applications...Not applying to the Ivy Leagues is not an option, and not getting into them would be a total embarrassment...But I know a few girls who aren't going to let the pressure get them down. After all, no one really wants to go to college a virgin.

"More of the same. Again an entertaining quick read. As I read it I was envisioning the actors of the show as the characters and comparing and contrasting the story in the book with the one on the show. In this book, at the end Jenny is with Nate, Dan is with Vanessa and Blaire and Serena are friends again and end up together after their prospective dates go off with someone else. I am a fan of this series, and will no doubt read more of it. I am also a fan of the television show."

" I read the whole series of gossip girl. I loved these books when I was in high school. They definitely are a read for older kids, may not be appropriate fro thise of a younger age. However, it is definitely a good read that keeps you turning the page. "

" Liked the first book, had watched the first season (mostly) on reruns. I read this a while ago, but remember feeling that it was just not... for me. But I'm much older than the crowd it's marketed for, so that was probably the issue. "

" I'm forever a Blair fan, so this one is definitely NOT one of my favorites in the series since her life is pretty much destroyed. I hate that so many bad things have to happen to her, they should be happening to Serena. I really can't stand her in the books (she's a little bit better on the show). "

" I really disliked this book. Perhaps I love the TV show so much that thee differences annoyed. Perhaps it was the constant smoking and drugs and foul language. Perhaps it was the characters were really annoying. More than likely it was all of the above :) "

" It's hard for me to call this series a love story, but there is some boy-girl relationships, starting and ending. This book doesn't seem like a stand-alone book to me, more of another chapter or episode in the lives of the young, beautiful, ultra rich and callous. "
