Publisher Description

Internationally best-selling author Jeffery Deaver delivers the latest sensational thriller in his wildly popular Kathryn Dance series. Newsweek calls Jeffery Deaver a suspense superstar, and in his new novel, he lives up to the accolades once again as he sets his heroine Kathryn Dance on a quest to stop an obsessive stalker from destroying a beautiful young country singer.

Kayleigh Towne is gorgeous with a voice that is taking her to the heights of the country pop charts. Her hit single Your Shadow puts her happily in the spotlight, until an innocent exchange with one of her fans leads Kayleigh into a dark and terrifying realm. The fan warns, I'm coming for you, and soon accidents happen and people close to Kayleigh die. Special Agent Kathryn Dance must use her considerable skills at investigation and body language analysis to stop the stalker - but before long she learns that, like many celebrities, Kayleigh has more than just one fan with a mission.

A former folksinger, Deaver has written the actual song Your Shadow. Listeners will be able to download it from his website, JefferyDeaver.com.

" OMG! Shark jump and you've-got-to-be-kidding-me on page 274. Did not suspect this pathetic turn at all. Must have chocolate before making the critical decision whether to close the book or finish it. Back in a few...................Finished the book and it was increasingly painful. Really, I am stunned that an accomplished writer I have enjoyed would close out a decent story with a million cheap little twists and turns. The X in the XO is going through Deaver's name. I'm done. I did learn one valuable lesson, however. Chocolate does not always make everything ok. "

" I love reading Jeffery Deaver. I wanted to be a forensics lab technician, but I never got a chance to. So, I ready about it and that's the next best thing. "

" I generally really like Deaver's books and was definitely disappointed in this one. It's about a young country singer who is being stalked. The plot twists are more messy than exciting and found myself thinking, oh, you've got to be kidding, when the plot would turn again. I was not surprised by the ending. I do highly recommend many of Deaver's other books but this one was so-so. I think a younger reader (young adult) may enjoy it more than I did. "

" First of the Kathryn Dance novels I have read. Like her as a character. The novel reads well. Characters that you want to be involved with. Fast read. One day if you count staying up to 2 am to finish "

" Kathryn Dance is a expert In kinesics but she doesn't really have a lot to do with this in the book. Found it too detailed with the music information. Prefer his Lincoln Rhyme novels after reading 3 with this character in it "

" A sleuthing marathon. A puzzle mystery. Totally agree with Jeff Ayers' (Associated Press) review that "XO" delivers more twists than a bag of pretzels. Kathryn Dance's toughest case, and Deaver's best book yet. "

" This book had a lot of twists and turns, and frankly, some were a little unbelievable. The characters were a little stiff, and the introduction of Lincoln and Amelia for a couple of pages did not really make too much sense. Cool premise, though. "

" I'm just going to start calling 2 stars the "Meh" level of books. It filled the afternoon. The quality has gone down in Deaver's work and I think I pretty much just read this because I already read the other two and knew what I was getting. A decent enough mystery for when you are feeling sick. "

" The main character, Kathryn Dance, reads body language, but her skills are put to the test when she is investigating an over-zealous fan following a young singer. This was not a complex novel, and the plot meandered without much emotional investment on my part. "
