About the Authors
David Farland is the pseudonym of Dave Wolverton, an American author of fantasy fiction who lives in Utah with his wife and five children. He was a budding author during his college years but came to prominence when he won the Writers of the Future L. Ron Hubbard Gold Award for On My Way to Paradise in 1987. He has achieved much renown in the science fiction field, but fans may know him best as the author of Star Wars novels; The Courtship of Princess Leia was met with acclaim from critics and readers alike and became a New York Times bestselling novel.
Jerry Pournelle (1933–2017) was an American science fiction writer, essayist, and journalist who contributed for many years to the computer magazine Byte. He wrote the popular Janissaries and CoDominium series and was the coauthor of several bestselling science fiction novels, including Lucifer’s Hammer, The Mote in God’s Eye, and the New York Times bestseller Footfall. He had advanced degrees in engineering, political science, statistics, and psychology and, in addition to his career as a fiction writer, had for many years written columns on both politics and technology.
Jody Lynn Nye lives in Illinois with her husband and two cats of superior bearing. Her numerous works of science fiction and fantasy include An Unexpected Apprentice and its sequel, A Forthcoming Wizard; Applied Mythology; Advanced Mythology; and others. She has collaborated with New York Times bestselling author Anne McCaffrey on The Death of Sleep, The Ship Who Won, Doona, and other novels, and with another New York Times bestselling author, Robert Asprin, on books in his Myth series.

About the Narrators
Ali Ahn is a film, television, and voice actor. Her acting credits include appearances on Law & Order, Ugly Betty, White Collar, and Zero Hour. She has also narrated numerous audio books, such as Honolulu by Alan Brennert, This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen, Persian Pickle Club by Sandra Dallas, and Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shteyngart.
Jonathan Todd Ross is a writer and an Earphones and Audie Award–winning voice actor. He has lent his voice to numerous anime television shows, including Yu-Gi-Oh! and Sonic X.
Richard Poe, a professional actor for more than thirty years, has appeared in numerous Broadway shows, including 1776 and M. Butterfly. On television he has had recurring roles on Star Trek and Frasier. His films include Born on the Fourth of July and Presumed Innocent. Poe is a well-known and prolific audiobook performer and the winner of numerous AudioFile Earphones Awards.
Rachel Botchan
holds a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and is a member of the Pearl
Theater Company in New York. She and her husband live in New York City.
Tom Picasso is a voice over artist, actor, and singer originally from Kansas
City. He is currently the voice of COZI TV, a new cable channel from NBCUniversal that premiered in January 2013 where he records all their
ads and tags for the network. He can also be heard on the audiobooks
for Hal Clement’s Ocean on Top and Ardath Mayhar's YA novel The Door in
the Hill. He holds an MFA in Acting from the Case Western
University/Cleveland Play House and has appeared in numerous shows
off-broadway and regionally.
