" Once I got past the fact that I was reading a Babysitter's Club clone for the next generation, this book wasn't so bad. Told from the perspectives of four seventh-grade classmates who become the BSG, or Beacon Street Girls, this first book in the series tells how the girls meet and become friends (after starting out as enemies). The rhetoric is good (be yourself, stand up for what you believe in, etc.), and while the plot is rather unoriginal, I can see why it has appeal for the junior high school crowd. "
