Isabelle Scott and Mirabelle Monroe are still reeling from the revelation that they share more than just the roof over their heads. The media has pounced on their story and the girls are caught up in a flurry of talk-show appearances and newspaper interviews. They've put on a happy public face, but someone is leaking their true feelings to the press. While it seems like the world is watching their every move, at least they have each other.
But with cotillion season right around the corner, Izzie and Mira have barely had time to process their newfound sisterhood. Mira has always dreamed of making her debut in a gorgeous white gown—now if only she could find an escort. Izzie, meanwhile, is still struggling to find her place in Emerald Cove, and it's seeming ever more impossible with EC mean-girls, young and old, doing their best to keep her down. As cotillion preparations heat up, though, there are dance steps to learn, manners to perfect—and secret initiations to complete?—as if sophomore year wasn't hard enough.
It's time for the gowns to go on and the gloves to come off.

"Amazing book, just as good as the one before it. Izzy and Mira's friendship and relationships were put to the test in this book. What with Dylan, Brayden's mom, and their cotillion right around the corner, it's no wonder Izzy and Mira feel like the world has it in for them."

" This is a second novel to the Belles series (didn't read the first one and was able to pick up on the story just fine). This isn't my typical read and although it didn't take me long to get into the story it also didn't peak my interest as much as a fantasy novel would. However, it is still a fun and enchanting book. As the reader, you get swept up in the gossip and the dressing up of a debutant lifestyle and find yourself getting sucked into the crazy life of Izzie and Mira. Izzie and Mira have just discovered they are sisters and luckily for their sake they come together during this difficult time as their father is running for US Senate rather than being torn apart. It is with each other that they find the strength to survive the gossip of the town, the secrets being given to the newspapers, and the upcoming cotillion. At the end...a new hidden secret is revealed... "
— Traci, 2/2/2014" Very cute! I have to laugh that Mira & Izzie didn't figure out what was going on earlier! I'm interested to see what will happen next. Oh & I loved the Kaitlin Burke reference :) "
— Aydrea, 12/23/2013" An OK fluff read. I actually don't mind the Gossip-Girl'esque setting (1st world problems of the Rich!) because both main characters (Izzie and Mira) seldom say or do anything insipid/eye-rolling. "
— Huong, 12/14/2013" Sometimes, Isabelle's voice just got on my nerves! I get that she's been hurt and she had valid reasons to be apprhensive, but the way it was written, it was so annoyingly whiny. Otherwise, I enjoyed it some. Can't wait to meet Zoe, and read the third one. "
— Monique, 12/11/2013" Such a great book! Review coming soon. "
— Andrea, 12/9/2013" plot development was a bit slow for me "
— Tanya, 10/31/2013" THIS BOOK WAS AMZAING! It's the sequel to Belles, by Jen Calonita. I love all of the books she writes! "
— Meredith, 10/8/2013" I'm of the opinion that Izzie is more of a snob than the girls she calls snobs. She constantly looked down on them - on anyone who wasn't from Harborside, for that matter - and frankly, that attitude was just too bitchy to be likeable or enjoyable. "
— dontouchmychocolate, 4/21/2013" Sequel to Belles - illegitimate daughter of NC senator becomes more involved with Emerald Cove social stuff, including debutante ball. Entertaining. "
— Karin, 1/25/2013" good - i would read again - it was a good continuation of the series. I really like this family and I look forward to reading the third book in this series. "
— Krissy, 1/2/2013" Audiobook. Great sequel to Belles, but the cliffhanger ending was annoying here. "
