About the Authors

Eric Smith is an author, prolific book blogger, and literary agent from New Jersey, currently living in Philadelphia. He cohosts Book Riot’s podcast, HEY YA, with non-fiction young-adult author Kelly Jensen. He can regularly be found writing for Book Riot’s blog, as well as Barnes & Noble’s Teen Reads blog, Paste magazine, and Publishing Crawl. He has a growing Twitter platform of over 40,000 followers.

Matthew Salesses is the author of several books, including the 2021 PEN/Faulkner finalist Disappear Doppelgänger Disappear. Adopted from Korea, he has written about adoption, race, and Asian American masculinity in Best American Essays 2020, NPR's Code Switch, the New York Times Motherlode blog, and the London Guardian, among others. In 2015, Buzzfeed named him one of 32 Essential Asian American Writers. He has taught fiction and Asian American literature and studies at universities and various community writing centers.

Mark Oshiro is the Hugo-nominated writer of the online Mark Does Stuff universe (Mark Reads and Mark Watches), where he analyzes book and TV series. He was the nonfiction editor of Queers Destroy Science Fiction! and the co-editor of Speculative Fiction 2015, and is the President of the Con or Bust Board of Directors. When not writing/recording reviews or editing, Oshiro engages in social activism online and offline. Anger is a Gift is his debut YA contemporary fiction novel.

Nicole Chung has written for the New York Times, GQ, Longreads, BuzzFeed, Hazlitt, and Shondaland, among other publications. She is Catapult magazine’s editor in chief and the former managing editor of The Toast. All You Can Ever Know is her first book. Follow her on Twitter at @nicole_soojung.

Meredith Ireland was born in Korea and adopted by a New York librarian. Her love of books started early, and although she pursued both pre-med at Rollins College and law at the University of Miami, stories were her fate. The Jasmine Project is her debut novel.

About the Narrators

Timothy Andrés Pabon is an English- and Spanish-speaking voice-over artist who has worked extensively in advertising and audiobook narration. He has had acting roles on House of Cards and has also been a costar on HBO’s acclaimed series The Wire opposite country music legend Steve Earl. As a stage actor, he has worked off-Broadway at the June Havoc Theatre, and his regional credits include Center Stage, the Shakespeare Theatre, Arena Stage, the Hippodrome, Olney Theatre, Rep Stage, and GALA Hispanic Theatre.

Delanna Studi is an actress whose roles have included DreamKeeper , Edge of America, and Shameless. she is Native American, born in Oklahoma, and is the niece of the multiaward–winning actor Wes Studi. She was elected chairwoman of the President’s National Task Force for American Indians of the Screen Actors Guild. In 2007, she performed her one-woman show entitled “What’s an Indian Woman to Do?” in Los Angeles to rave reviews from LA Weekly and the Los Angeles Times.

Feodor Chin, an AudioFile Earphones Award–winning narrator, is an actor classically trained at the American Conservatory Theater and UCLA. His acting career includes numerous credits in film, television, theater, and voice-over.

Frankie Corzo is a film and voice-over actress and audiobook narrator. She obtained a BA degree in theater studies from Montclair State University.

Kirby Heyborne is a musician, actor, and professional narrator. Noted for his work in teen and juvenile audio, he has garnered over twenty Earphones Awards.
