Publisher Description

After falling off the wagon and becoming what he so clearly and strongly resisted--a consumer--Josh Swenson (aka: Larry) finds himself in a hyper-paranoid state of no return. That is, until he is kidnapped and coaxed back into resurfacing as his old persona. Before long, Larry is back on the scene with much more on his mind that a gospel website--this time Larry wants to effect change in government. What starts out as a small campaign to get the younger population to vote turns into a run for the presidency. Can Larry really take on George Bush? In this very smart, very witty novel, Janet Tashjian brings the political world to the forefront and exposes it from many different points of view.

"I did enjoy this book enough to give it four stars, but I liked "The Gospel According to Larry" slightly better than this sequel. "The Gospel" seemed a bit more plausible to me (if that matters in fiction) and also more intriguing and suspenseful. Reading "Vote" is still well-spent time, and I'm looking forward to "Larry and the Meaning of Life.""

" Josh committed pseudocide after the media discovered he was Larry, an online anti-consumerism guru. Now, after two years in hiding, Josh is out to change the world again. He is running for president of the United States. With help from his stepfather and old flame Beth, Josh/Larry may just have a shot at the big leagues. "

" I didn't like this follow on story as well as I liked the first one.....just a little too hard to believe. But, if you have read the first in the series, I would read the second. You don't have to have read the first book before reading this one, but I would. Interesting and creative. "

" The only think I liked about this novel was the idea of Josh running for office and his platform. Everything else was frustrating: Beth and Josh's relationship, the inclusion of the 'villians' at the end, and the general depressing route that Josh's life takes. "

" Don't bother. The story is completely unbelievable, and the characters were often extremely shallow. Ends on a cliffhanger, but there's no sequel. The dark moment was very dark--too dark, I thought, for this particular book. "

" An enjoyable sequel though not very plausible. And "Larry" has some nice ideas but most of them are one sided and don't address real life consequences. The greater message of voting and having your voice heard I agree with 100% "
